Hes going to hire personnel guys to help with his lack of experience there, but hes very much qualified to run a FO.
Baalke was a highly respected scout, but he couldn't communicate, and was too stubborn to admit when his personally scouted talent wasnt good. Lynch is the opposite, and will do the actual job of GM, letting the scouting department do their job.
Im really liking the hire after the initial shock of disappointment.
I'm with you on this. Initially anyone would say what the hell is this? But this sort of that " outside the box" thinking and the connection with Kyle is there. Lynch is a Stanford Grad, Super Bowl winner and Hall of Famer. Played under Gruden, Monte Kiffin, Mike Shanahan among others.
My only issue is that we need a QB evaluator and maybe Kyle makes that determination. Not sure Lynch's strength is the QB spot. I could be wrong.
