NO! THAT'S A BAD, JROUTER4949! Now play nice! (Attack the post not the entire community.)

Yeah I know, just tire of seeing these negative posts about the GM Hire without proof that Lynch is a BAD Hire,Hell look at Reggie over in Oaktown and the Raiders,I guess He was a BAD hire too?, it seems like there are a Lot of Juvenile-football knowledge posters here who do a Lot of Bashing and Whinning when for Once Jed has taken his time and looked for the right Guys to rebuild the team to be competitive AGAIN.

Heard that last year.

Chip Kelly is going to bring innovation and creativity.

Drafting 2nd this year.
I really hope having rookies at HC and GM doesn't lead to getting taken to the cleaners when it comes to trades and signing free agents. I know they will have people around them with experience but, they do have the last word and will want to make a good impression...

Coming from the guy that said Kap could be Steve Young. Lol

We have 49er bloodlines back

Reverse it. Shanny the Younger just got him a wingman that will cover his back for the next six years (if they last that long).

From this moment on, I will refer to them as Maverick and Goose.

I just tells me the qualified guys wanted nothing to do with the BFFs, especially with Paraage possibly sticking his nose into things.

Its not about the benefit of the doubt, its about choosing to be upset about something completely out of your control, not knowing how it will turn out or letting it run its course and see how it works out, hoping for the best, being prepared for the worst.

So with Mark Dominik (ex-GM) and Tom Gamble, how can't Lynch set up a draft again? And can you honestly tell me Lynch doesn't know about scouting players, inquire about trades, trade value, forming a prospect board and value, know how to conduct interviews (when he himself has been in them) or know how to properly structure a roster?

As for contracts, Paraag handles that, I'm sure he and Lynch would work together in negotiations with player contracts or did you think Baalke did that by himself?

Lynch will have a front office team to guide and advise. The main thing Lynch will be is the face of the business/media side of the 49ers not to mention one who will mesh with his head coach Kyle Shanahan.

He's not setting it up. If his jobs is to have everybody do the work, there's know point in making him the trigger man. If Dominik and Gamble are fighting for two different players that Lynch knows 0 about...how does that work out? Coin toss, arm wrestle? If his job is to pick players, right now we can probably say with certainty he is starting at the bottom with previous knowledge.

Yes I doubt he knows the in's and out's at the FO level. You know how I can say that? He's never done it or been a part of it. He has the same qualifications that Deion Sanders has. Actually Deion attends the combine and watches players so he might actually know more.

Public and media relations, aka the face of the franchise (the business side of it). I also find it funny how you think Lynch can't do this or that because he's never had a front office job. You pretty much disregarded all my post with our post above.

Neither you or I are in position to rightfully judge him on this job which you and I don't really know about in the first place. So like I've said earlier (in another post), get on board or get out, simple as that no sense cry about it. At least let the guy fail or succeed first.

Is he more qualified than any of the other people we interviewed? Every other person we interviewed has at some point been a part of what I listed. In some form or capacity they have seen and/or participated in the whole process.

We hired somebody to do PR and gave them the GM title and responsibility that comes with it?

You want an intelligent TV person that played the game. Hire Mike Mayock. He's at least competent in player evaluation and knows scouts, agents, and FO personnel around the league.

No he's not, never did I say he was. All I said (have been saying) is that he's capable of doing so. How John Lynch and Jed York were brought together I have no idea. But it happened and it happened to be with someone that will mesh with Shanahan (The real face of the franchise). We will know more about Lynch The GM as time goes, but I'm just baffled how people just think he's a TV analyst and football player with no connections at all with players, coaches and team execs.

Would you guys be happy if they kept Trent Baalke who's teams he's built went 7-25 the past two season?

I've been screaming for Wolf for 2 years.

A rookie HC with a garbage roster needs somebody overly competent to fix the roster.

We have a rookie GM with 0 experience. Gamble who everybody wanted gone. And the possibility of getting somebody else to help Lynch, that's been out of the game for 4 years if rumors are true.

You make Lynch a VP of something and let him learn.

I wanted Gutekunst, Wolf, Ballard and Paton. Their credentials look good on paper, but I'm thinking York thinks 'What would be the best for Shanahan'. York is tryng to get it right and it may not look it, but I think he's valuing relationships that build trust over who has the best credentials. It's a very risky move, but sometimes that's what it takes to give your franchise or team a spark.
Lynch is a bright guy and being a Stanford grad must be capable. He gave 100% as a player and if he can stockpile a group with that mindset maybe he can be our front office version of John Elway.

Yeah I'm with sdaddy on this one. Why should we trust Jed York?

Honestly if he had followed the so-called "whiners"

1. Baalke would have left instead of Harbaugh
2. Gase would have been hired over Tomsula,
3. Baalke would have been fired after 2015 and a new HC/GM search would have begun

Honestly his decision making has been so bad over the last 2.5 years that the angry mob would have run the team better than him. I don't see how he gets the benefit of the doubt ever.

Can't argue with that. Jed's decision making has been dogs**t. He's even more culpable for the team's downfall than Baalke.

It's never too late to turn it around though. I don't have confidence in Jed, but hiring Shanahan was a good start. He's one of the best young coaching commodities today. If Shanahan wanted Lynch, then I'm all for it. Lets see how it works out.

Can't blame negative nannies for not having any faith up to this point.. past couple of years set us back big time.

Rant now, but hope to rave in near future

49ers fans >>> forty whiners

What did he do right? People outside the fan base, not just 'WHINER' fans, are saying WTF with this hire. On its merits its a s**tty hire from a owner who doesn't get the benefit of the doubt. We're fans not sycophants.

LOL I feel ya... I really don't know if it's gonna pan out, but I'll reserve / save my best rants for [if] (hopefully not) it goes bad. Right now it's in neutral, let's see what happens

Good post. I appreciate your positivity I just wish I shared it. If we had been great in this department recently most fans wouldn't have much to say. If this had happened in 2014 with Jed firing Baalke, adding Lynch and keeping Harbaugh it wouldn't be a big deal. IMO
