We've had bad HCs, bad talent, bad health...just a whole lot of bad. Speaking of squeaked, we did just that thruout OTAs, with no injuries....

But the tables may be turning. Right now look at AB's post above about DLs and LBs...ie the guys involved. We got a passel of them, and wouldn't you know, this yr, for the first time in memory, we have until Sept to make the cuts. With a stable of talent like that listed above, it is more than just a little bit nice to have longer to watch and rate each of the above guys. This time last yr we had already made our cuts down to 75, but on a team woefully devoid of talent last yr, it is fortuitous that we have that little bit extra time for choosing the BEST players of a much improved crop over last yrs.

Sure it is just a little thing, but the change was just made this yr, and it benefits the really talent challenged teams...oh,say, like us...and allows for that litle bit of extra time to get the choices maximized. Lynch, Pita, Harold, Gilbert...that isn't decided yet, and Shalyn has more time to get the one, two or three best ones. For most teams , that isn't that big a deal. For us, yes...it is. And we will take any break we can beg, borrow or steal.
I'm not really sold on Gilliam. He didn't impress in Seattle.

He was their starter. He'll compete to be a backup here, and his starting experience served to motivate Brown to slim down and compete in the offseason.

Exactly Wrath...sometimes i wonder do people even follow the team that post here sometimes lol .
He was was supposed to be their starting LT but was moved to RT. He ended up competing with Sowell, and was in and out but usually started. Wilson, and some of it was due to his style, really ran for his life last year.

I think they got rid of everyone and are only projected to have one guy starting in the same spot this year.

Oh yeah. AA isn't a lock either. lol, you guys are basing his security on his draft position and 2016 non contact drills.

I can't even get irritated by you anymore... Cause ive gotten to know you and you do know football.

I can tell youre a hard plaeaser..and youre forever loyal to guys that did win, even if there's no rings to show for it. So, i respect you. But youre high AF if you think AA isnt a lock. Theres a wild dog chance hes traded for someone, but thats about it.

Its too bad Attoachu is still up in the air or Ingram is probably ours.. Might be a blessing in disguise, cause IMO like NY if Lynch comes to play this year, hes just as good as Ingram.

I just got the feeling as i was hypothetically thinking of trade scenarios... AA is seriously gonna do a solid job this year, he still might eventually walking if hes not traded cause we have others around and well probably go in a different direction cause you gotta remember hes already making starter money.

You're probably right. Hopefully you are right and AA performs at a high level.

I wish someone out there had an extra pass rusher that needed a 5T/3T.

Probably a blessing in disguise again cause we could use the extra help this year to get the run game back in order. We might squeek out just enough of a pass rush this year.

I still wouldn't be shocked if hes traded after a pre-season game if it makes sense for both teams...maybe the other team is desperate for a playoff push and Arik gives them a starter they need and we get a pass rusher/WR/OL/draft pick.

I'm actually excited about the pass rush this year, I think AA will be better, plus we have Dumervil, Thomas, Brooks, Buckner, Watson, I also have high hopes for Blair(He better make it, such a pass rushing beast at App State). I wouldn't mind another Edge, but I like our guys.

Same hear my man. Hey im not giving up on Lynch,Harold,Pita,Gilbert all duking out and see what happens .

Agreed. I know I've said I have guys like Watson, Coyle, Jones, etc... as locks, but I'm willing to see what happens, and may the best player(s) win out. Some I think stick, like Gilliam, you don't cut a player you offered a multi year deal before he signed a 1yr deal with $1.25M GTD.

I can see guys like Paulsen being cut in favor of a guy like Hikutini, or even Celek.

In no way am I saying Gilliam is good or great, but when you offer a guy a multi year deal then he signs a 1yr offer sheet with $1.25m GTD, he seems like he makes it, he may not be great as a starter, but as a backup Swing T, who could play as a blocker on Field Goals, I see him making it.

Gilliam is pretty much a damn near lock.. Also fared better at RT than LT. Hope Paulsen,Don Jones,Coyle dont make it.
