Our ZBS with cutback runs, got washed out. Literally. When a RB did cut his feet went out from under him. Happpened to all RBs. Kyle later got away from that, and we did better. Somehow our RBs did get some cut backs in the 2nd half and i think it was when it was still sloppy, but there were some spots on the field they could cut.
One thing both Kyle and Saleh have demonstrated this year is the ability to adapt. I remember of Offense play calling under Chryst. It was two dimensional and repetitive. It was also ineffective.
In 2017 & 2018 Kyle's offensive had flashes of brilliance but it was rebuild years so was inconsistent depending on what talent was around. I thought it would take off last year but JGs injury scuttled that. However, with CJ and Mullens JG's injury was a blessing in disguise because it highlighted weaknesses in the offense that I think JG's early brilliance at QB at the end of 17 masked.
The injury benefited the team in the long term because of this.
We reap the benefits in 2019 as Kyle can get more complex in his plays and the offense is feeling more comfortable in executing their roll in the plays.
Sunday's weather in Washington threw the play book out the window for the reasons you have stated but when you get dealt such a hand the talented punch on through and that is what Kyle did. His first halve calls were not going to plan so he adjusted and the team he has been coaching adjusted to his calls and did all they needed to do.

I am pretty sure Kyle will be happy to run an offense again after that mud bowl in DC. He'll have the team ready for Sunday.

I read a lot of bitterness on Falcons boards after their SB loss that they blamed on Kyle. So this thread is so immensely entertaining today: https://boards.atlantafalcons.com/topic/4073885-shanny-man/
Very entertaining.

Shanny-Man, Shanny-Man
Does whatever a Shanny can
Calling plays, of many types
Winning games, left and right
Look out! Here comes the Shanny-Man!
Is he smart? Listen you
He's an offensive-minded guru
Can he coach, defense though?
Take a look, He's 6 and 0
Hey, there! There goes the Shanny-Man!
In the sun of the Bay, at the scene of a game
Like a ray of handsome light
He arrives, you know his name
Shanny-Man, Shanny-Man
Levi's Stadium Shanny-Man
Running Backs? He's got four
Scoring points is his reward
Look out! Here comes the Shanny-Man!
Sicairos and vitaman like this"

Exactly. We haven't had a guy with Shanahan's football acumen around here for a long time.
Given what he had to start with going 10-22 in his first two seasons was a great indicator of how good he is.

Ditto. 9ers are a nearly complete rebuild.
I envied McVay and Lafleur being successful right away since they inherited talented rosters - it seemed unfair for them to be lauded as genius coaches while Kyle was slogging through a rebuild and so very many injuries. But now that Kyle is finally reaping the rewards of his hard work and careful planning, each victory feels especially sweet. Kyle doesn't just design schemes, he designs teams.
I am still learning about the NFL - has any new coach been able to rebuild a team so successfully, so quickly? (Here in Cleveland, it's taking decades!)

A rebuild while starting out with a roster that was as terrible as the 49ers had in February 2017? Not for a while. One rebuild that comes to mind is the Dallas Cowboys of the 1989-1992 who went on to win 3 out of 4 Super Bowls. There are many examples of quick turnarounds, but complete rebuilds in 3 seasons are rare. Bill Walsh rebuilt the 49ers in 3 seasons (from 1979-1981) and won Super Bowl XVI after the 1981 season.Originally posted by oh49er:Ditto. 9ers are a nearly complete rebuild.
