1994 50 vs Atl (papa Shanny OC)
1993 55 vs Det (papa Shanny OC)
1992 56 vs Atl (papa Shanny OC)
1991 52 vs Chi (Holmgren OC)
1989 55 vs Den (Holmgren OC)

Seems strange it has been that long ago.

It's been a rough 20 years with the exception of '01-'02 and '11-'13

2003 team actually beat Cardinals 50-14. That was was Erickson's first year (7-9, Greg Knapp was OC) before Donahue gutted the team by trading TO and cutting Garcia.

Here are all the 50+ games in 49er regular season history, 1946-2018:

It has been very rough. Offensive excellence left with Mike Shanahan and didn't come back until Kyle Shanahan arrived. Mooch was the best in between them, but he is not on the Shanahan's level. The Yorks need to keep Kyle Shanahan with the 49ers for as long as he wants to coach.

Jed gonna have to go to John and Denise and ask them to open the pocketbook and start giving some of these coaches big raises.
Imagine it's super bowl 54. Niners Vs. patriots. Niners lead 28-3 half way through the 3rd. Kyle gets ultimate redemption and wins 42-6

You're G.D. RIGHT!!!!
Even at 0-9 it was evident that Kyle Shanahan was the man. It's the best example I can think of where it is foolish to judge a head coach by their record alone and also a prime example of how context matters. Not everyone is as good as Shanny is, so them being 0-9 or what-have-you may truly be indicative that they actually suck. If Shanny is 0-9 he must have the worst roster in the NFL. He did. That he had his team in position to win 5 of those games with Bryan Hoyer and Beathard as his QB is a miracle in and of itself.

Kyle Shanahan started this season at 10-22, he is now 17-22. There's a real good possibility that he ends the regular season with a 24-24 record and he has outside shot at breaking the .500 mark. Not that I need that to justify anything, but it would be cool considering where we've come from.

He'll yeah. Let's keep this thing intact. If it really was Denise (who stepped in out of embarrassment) who got Kyle to come here then it behooves her to pay he and his assistants what they're worth. Sucks that our assistants will get poached but it's inevitable. Hopefully the chance to be a part of something special will offer them some more incentive (beyond money) to stay.
I don't know if this goes in here but I found it interesting that in 1990, when we started 10-0.. almost every game was close. At least on paper. I wasn't alive to watch them.

Most of our games this year haven't really been close besides a maybe the steelers. The bengals had some lucky plays that made it look closer.

I wouldnt call that bengals game close or closer at all, they scored that john ross td in absolute garbage time when we had our back ups in. that was a beat down from the get go

Damn I missed that 2003 score....I didn't even think to look at 2003(I checked everything from 1981-2001 ). I remembered the 49 point season opener but totally forgot about the Zona game.

I don't want to imagine where we would be had we impulsively jumped ship from Kyle.
