Worst game outside of him crapping himself during the super bowl. Run the ball and take the tie. The offense showed no consistency yet you ask receivers that blow to make catches when it counts. Kyle is to blame, he wanted these WRs he got them.

And the verdict is:
NOT a championship caliber coach.
NOT a championship caliber coach.

Our schedule is absolutely brutal and our team is walking on one leg. A tie itself would've been huge.

I don't agree with playing for the tie. I don't agree with 3 passes in a row. Run the dam ball and kill some clock

I HOPE he learns from this...
his play calling in CRUNCH time here will be compared to that Atlanta Super Bowl against the Patriots !!!

Shanahan's attitude fell between two stools. If you decide to go conservative and not try the QB sneak at 4th down, then why not just run out the clock and get the tie once you get the ball back on the 20? It's not as if we were driving the ball - the 3 and out was not out of the question. And even if we did get closer, was there any guarantee that the kick would have been good? At that point you might as well settle for the tie.
Alternatively, if you want to go aggressive and for the win (my preference actually), then just try to get closer for the rookie kicker the first time round.
He has worked wonders so far this season, and this could have gone either way. But I'm sure he'll go to bed feeling he let one slip away.
I am personally crushed of course, and things are made worse by the huge injury toll.

Dude crumpled tonight. Tried to turn it into a measuring contest and came up short.

At the very least, make sure Seattle doesn't have a shot at the end. We had complete control and he only wasted 28 seconds.

Thought Kyle did fine except for our very last possession in OT. We could've gashed them on the ground for some chunk gains and run out the clock at the same time in case we had to punt, which we did.
I feel those runs could've easily given us 5 to 6 yard pops and more manageable 3rd downs. Yet, three straight incompletes (with a couple of drops) and we give it right back to Wilson only taking something like 20 seconds on the clock. Not good.
Learn from this and get better, Kyle.

I don't have an issue with how he called the game. Jimmy needs to not hit Seahawks square in the chest, and Niners WRs need to catch the ones that hit their hands.

Unfortunately there is a lot of blame for tonight's performance that will be (should be) put squarely on Kyle

Plus Clowney literally out played everybody on our offense

I absolutely love Kyle as a coach, but this loss is on him. He's spoken in the past about both him and Jimmy having to dial it back at times because of having such a great defense, but he trusted his gameplan so much tonight that he ignored the fact that the players left available couldn't execute it properly.
This was the type of game that you sit back and simply play spectator to your dominating defense. You don't repeatedly keep putting them in bad spots by turning it over on unnecessary passing plays. Play conservative until Seattle shows they can actually score on you without the benefit of a short field.
Anyway hopefully this is a lesson learned down the road, especially if we are in yet another playoff atmosphere and are faced with a similar situation. Hopefully ego's are put to the side and just do what's best for the team.
