It really wouldn't have made a difference at that point. Seattle let at least 45 seconds come off the clock on their drive that they wouldn't have if there was less time on the clock, so one run play to drain another 40 would not have prevented them from getting into FG range (assuming everything else plays out identically).

He shoulda ran the ball to burn clock, but also because Mostert was having more success than that awful passing game. We only used like 13 seconds. f**k

I hated the play calling. Run the damn ball instead of 3 straight passes. I would gladly have taken a tie when we have a 2 game lead in the standings. If he makes yardage on first down and its 2nd and 5 it opens up so much more. Bad play calling and bad decision making by Shanahan cost the team tonight.

Clowney was using cheesy headfakes and s**t that shouldn't work on a starter.

Wait, are you talking about the Clowney who thoroughly destroyed and embarrassed anyone he lined up against, including starters Staley and McGlinchey?

I was talking about the quality of oline play.

Head fakes shouldn't work on a starting lineman.
I was just so surprised we gave up on the run, Kyle and Carroll were indeed flexing their pee pee's to see if Jimmy could do it all. -Problem is that our o-line was rusty, and our receivers were janitors who probly wouldn't of made the team if Taylor and Hurd had been healthy from week one.

Well rest easy in the knowledge it was much more than headfakes he used as he kicked the living s**t out anyone he lined up against...only thing missing in his All-Pro party tonight was Niners rolling out that Michigan RB so Clowney could murder him again.
Play calling was suspect. Teams have honed in on forcing Jimmy to beat them and for some reason kyle has turned to running it up the middle in the power i.

Not sure how hard it is to zone run away from whatever side clowney isn't on. This is much more on shanny putting the two hurt tackles in and then calling a power run game against Seattle's huge 300+ pounders than people give credit for.

Why run up the middle when Seattle has big boys all over the middle. Run to the side away from clowney in the zone and make them go lateral.

Today was disappointing but I'm not mad at Shanahan for playing to win at the end. If he played to tie I would've been pissed, without the benefit of hindsight.
No adjustment when they stacked the box, 10 defenders on the line! Where were the screens and crossing patterns over the middle! Shanahan did not adjust!
the sky is not falling.. this is a game we could have won had we made the FG.. we be celebrating talking a different story.. The Patriots got embarrassed by the Ravens who handed them their first loss.. We barely lost by a lucky field goal miss. it stings, it hurts, its a game we should have won but the reality is that we must learn from this and move on!

Did the Patriots lose their entire team to injury?

Injuries finally caught up with the team. That said the team was still in a position to win the game. Tough loss, but this team will move on.

When you get the ball with under 2 minutes to go in a tie game with your opponent not having any of their timeouts.......you should under no circumstance be giving the other team the ball back with like 1:25(or whatever it was) left on the clock. That's terrible game management from the head coach.
