Ugh, below average game by Shanahan regardless.

No. But these are his handpicked WRs.
The first down, you're expecting to get a completion," Shanahan said. "They got a tipped ball. The second one, we've got to be able to throw and catch there between Dante and Jimmy. And then you get stuck in third and 10 like that, so definitely didn't want to run it right there on third-and-10. (We) wanted to go for the first down. Definitely wish we took more time of the clock, but was counting on us catching one of those balls."

There's got to be some urgency with these WRs. Yes we're 8-1 but they've been f**king up all yr

Today was disappointing but I'm not mad at Shanahan for playing to win at the end. If he played to tie I would've been pissed, without the benefit of hindsight.

When you get the ball with under 2 minutes to go in a tie game with your opponent not having any of their timeouts.......you should under no circumstance be giving the other team the ball back with like 1:25(or whatever it was) left on the clock. That's terrible game management from the head coach.

Post of the week right here. Terrible play-calling and clock management.

Shoulda ran at least once when we had the ball the last time and given James more of a chance to make a play.

Mostert was doing well too. Should have let the hot player keep going.
Garropolo was getting killed and he kept sending out 5 guys into the pattern.

At least keep a guy in to chip on Clowney, dude was having the game of his career, smh.

Pettis and Deebo had some of the best hands in college when they came out. Even Bourne was known for having strong natural pass catching hands at EW.

Have no idea why they're not catching balls. It's gotta be mental at this pt. Pettis is pretty much useless at this pt.

On offense? ABSOLUTELY.

He has the last say on offensive personnel.

Deebo/Pettis and yes Bourne were all known for having great hands in college. I don't know that the hell is going on with them.
Poor game plan and clock management in ot by shanny.
When Harbs was HC : We need to stop playing not to lose. Grow some balls and play to win.

With Kyle as HC : We should have played not to lose. Kyle is too aggressive.

Same fanbase, different day.

No, you can't blame him for the drops, or the injuries, or the play of the starting tackles. But you can blame him for his team not being prepared to block Clowney, and all of the execution issues including JG holing on to the ball too long. Wilson used the quick passing game to help his horrible O-line, while JG hurt his O-line by holding on to the ball. Was Shanahan not using the quick passing game enough, who knows?

Pettis is done. James is almost automatic in fielding punts but if anything happens to him just throw Pettis back there to see if he can return anything like he did in college. Maybe he can get some value there. Bourne is too inconsistent... thats been the story on him since he's got here.

KS does deserve the blame for these guys. He cant catch for them but Lynch makes the moves to get the players Kyle wants, its one of the reasons I think Lynch is a much better GM than people give him credit for. He does what is necessary to get those guys and has to take the brunt of the criticism while Kyle goes through learning pains of talent evaluation. Example; Kyle liked the shiftiness of Pettis and wanted it in his offense... then realized he was soft as baby sh*t so he then asks Lynch to bring in two of the most physical WRs in the draft to compensate for Pettis.

Cant wait for Hurd to be back to get Bourne or Pettis off the field. Sucks that Taylor is done for the season... he would of been a difference maker last night in letting JG get the ball out quickly. Time to see if James can fill that role since no one else outside of Sanders is.
I'm with Shanny. f**k going for the tie. That's f**king your own sister. He called the pass plays late in overtime. It was there. Then it was dropped.

Yea I'm totally lost on this playing for the tie s**t. What type of message does that send to your team after being 8-0.

I think most of us were ok with that sequence even though we only burned not even 30 seconds off the clock. It was the sequence that led to the McLaughlin shank we had an issue with, even though the spot screwed us, but I think that was one situation where Shanahan really needed to go for it on 4th down rather than put a mercenary rookie in for the longest try of his day.
