Not if the opposing D-line get a bunch of huge run stuffers to stop you. You saw what happened in the Seahawks game right?

The "Beat the 9ers" methodology has already been formulated:

1) Make sure you have huge run stuffers on your D-line to clog up the lanes to stop the run.

2) Make sure you have a healthy rotation of pass rushers to attack the tackles who are straight trash which will scare Jimmy G giving him happy feet.

3) Then play man cover to stop the sh*tty WRs from getting open and make Jimmy G beat you throwing the ball.

Yeah, that's why I think it's going to be tough sledding the next couple of games. It's going to be brutal against the Packers, Ravens and Saints.

We don't have enough decent WRs to get the job done. May be we should have kept Jordan Mathews? Is a bit late now, he is back with the Eagles.

So, we only have 4 left that we can play? Deebo, Pettis, KB and James? Goodwin is in the dog house right? Man, that is a pathetic WR corps.

Do we sign Dez Bryant? We're basically in survivor mode at this point.

Who else is in the market?

Dez Bryant? Didn't he fall off the cliff before he left the Cowboys?

At this point, they should just bring in a bunch of people and work them out and go from there.

May be get TO to come in too. LOL.

Dez is just a name at this point - I don't know what kind of shape he's in, or if that Achilles is 100%.

I am just surprised no reporter has raised the WR question yet with Shanahan.

Who do we have in the Practice Squad? Just one WR called Deontay Burnett from USC?

And Jalen Hurt still can't practice. Sigh...

If any more WRs get hurt, we would be totally screwed.

Not much a play caller can do when his players aren't executing. Some would argue, that personnel issues fall under Kyle's purview as well, which is true. However, how different would the offense have looked on Monday with a healthy Taylor and Hurd, and/or Pettis playing like he did at the end of the season last year, and/or Goodwin playing like he did in 2017 and/or Staley and McGlinchey blocking like they did before their injuries?

If Kyle took 3 knees and the tie on Monday, he would be getting equally as crushed right now as well. Bottom line is, we are lucky to have a play caller like him, and as long as he is in charge of our offense, they will be fine.

I can't say I agree with any of your points.

Taking 3 knees? Listen to yourself. You act as if we no choice but to give them the ball back with plenty of time against a defense who was asked to do too much already.

He could have called plays that resulted in yardage but didn't necessarily stop the clock.

We had personnel to do it.

Ive really soured on some aspects of his play calling. Not every game can be against an overmatched opponent.

If you have less than 2 minutes and you are on your own 15 yard line, a run play is playing for a tie. If that's the case, victory formation would be a lot safer. If you aren't going for safe that calling plays where receivers are open will do just fine.

So what are the minimum # of wins to make the playoffs, win the division, get a bye and get the #1 seed?

My guesses:

Min. wins for wildcard: 11
Division: 12
Bye: 13
#1 Seed: 14

Yep I think the only game we can lose now is the Ravens game to keep the #1 seed. Have to win all other games which will be a tall order.

No way in hell this happens.

Completely out of the question.
Right now, I have zero issues with Kyle Shanahan, as far as playcalling. Fact of the matter is, he just doesn't have the tools to work with right now. Just a bunch of scrub ass receivers besides Deebo, Sanders, Kittle, and the backup TEs.

I expect opposing defenses to start stacking the box more, and playing more man coverage. Our guys just can't beat man. And even on the off chance that they do, they will drop the ball.

Hopefully at least one of Kittle and Sanders can play. Otherwise, we don't even have a shot.

Doesn't it definitely feel similar to the Saleh situation? Sure, we ranked 11 in yards/play on defense last year. But we couldn't create turnovers to save our lives and had zero pass rush among other terrible things going on.

This year on offense. Sure, we can still move the ball. But we still have very visible holes on offense, and the opponents adjustments will only make that more difficult. Justin Smith was just talking about it this week, saying it's like the Harbaugh teams that just needed a couple pieces.

Re-sign Sanders and replace Pettis and Bourne with big-time talents at WR. More than open to letting them compete in camp, but ultimately hoping we find players so good that we can go into season with Sanders, Samuel, Hurd, and another couple new guys as the top 5.

It's against teams like SEA and in cold weather when it helps to have bigger skill players. Sometimes, you just need to give the big guy the ball and let him outmuscle the opponent. That's what they did with DK...fortunately, DK fumbled.

This is why I don't see sanders as a true #1. He's a little too insubstantial.

Kinda frustrating, to me, to cough up draft capital for a guy who can't take a hit.

We already have that in Pettis.

I'd like to secure a big guy like Metcalf, but a little smarter player who can hold onto the ball.

Sanders is tough, and is very good in the middle of the field. Stop making up things to complain about.

It's how I see it. I, personally, don't recall seeing him taking much punishment since he got here.

Maybe he is tough, I'll have to see how he plays this Sunday.

Been saying this for awhile by NY keeps saying I have a fetish for big receivers. They just bring more to the table when the stakes are high.

He's tough? That's news to me. Just saw him leave the game for a day-to-day rib injury.
