Disagree
His Williams-pick and the WR-draft-carousel support parts of the article.

Another good article by Chris Wilson. This time about Shanahan and how he might by holding back the team as well as himself. Honestly, after reading it I agree with pretty much all of what he said.

Hi Chris

Cute. He brought up a few interesting things. I thought so anyway.

This. With Kubiak it's the same. If their systems are implemented, RBs from the street will look like all-pro-players

I do think Shanahan has done a better job of updating the offense for the modern NFL where Kubiak still calls plays like its 1998.

How so? The article is so vague nearly anything negative or wrong in hindsight can be used to support, but what exactly about missing on a few draft picks backs up the article?
Feels like Shanny has went back to some of his WCO roots past couple weeks. Watching this offense when its in a rhythm is a beautiful thing.
Best coach in the NFL. Look at Dallas falling apart with less injuries than we have had. We are building depth and winning games despite 20+injured players this year. I dont know how far we get this year but we look like we can break some hearts later in the year. Next years 49erd will be the best in the league on both sides of the ball. Building a monster, a well coached monster
Shanny is gonna have to open his playbook for Jimmy at some point but these last 2 games he has been amazing calling easy throws for his struggling QB and when that QB gets his confidence back maybe we´ll see more deep throws because we can´t survive all season long with these lateral throws expecting Deebo to go full beast all the time.

BTW he looked great in all-black
Kyle wants to run. Even when we pass we're really just running out wide with all the short passes to the flats and end arounds. People try to take the edge away, he moves the edge lmao.

I was worried we'd be one-dimensional in the passing offense but, funny thing is, the amazing Bill Belichick didn't shut-down the easy lateral throws either. Yes, there may be a game where an opposing defense just flies to our pass-catchers and limits our YAC, but if a defense can do that... that's a very special defense. Our offense is predicated on (1) amazing running scheme, (2) intermediate/deep crossing routes off the play action, (3) Shanahan's rhythm as a playcaller, and (4) the YAC Bros catching the ball in space and making guys miss.

But I do firmly believe that Jimmy and the offense will grow so that they can attack the more intermediate and deep parts of the field... I think we can be a playoff team with this current offense. But with a weaker defense this year, can we make a deep run with this current offense? I'm looking forward to seeing that offense progress.

Thats the Shanny system. stretch run plays but its also west coast with its horizontal short and intermediate passes.
