He's saving his first NFL win for the Seahawks
It was his first game as a HC. He'll get better at time management. Let's hope so anyways. He has at least 3-4 seasons to learn and improve before firing him could even be considered, so let's be patient.

Clock manager is not really his forte ie Superbowl
All will be forgiven if he can beat Seattle next week.

Very unlikely, but what else do we have to hope for?

Stop hoping for wins this year. If some happen, then great. But what you should be hoping for is systemic improvement in small increments each week.

We are not even at the stage for hoping for wins? I know we are no where near expecting wins, but I thought we would at least be able to hope.

Maybe next year we can hope.
I had zero issues with time management. Are people complaining about the drive at the end of the first half? He was purposely letting the clock drain because they hadn't crossed their own 40 yet. If they had got another set of downs he would have used a timeout, but until then letting the clock tick away so that Carolina had less time was the right call.

He should have told the ref he may call a timeout on that one sequence in the second half. Now he knows better.

None of this is reason to have him curl up in the fetal position and give up his playcalling. Let him work through the kinks of doing both roles right now when we are gonna have a 3-13 or 4-12 season (and again - one kink is hardly the end of the world). It'll pay off in 2018 and later to have him work through things now.

No, we are not at the "hope for wins" stage. This year is about system install and setting a standard of expectations of scheme execution.

Hard to see the reality sometimes but true we all just need to put it in our heads that the win column isn't a big deal this season.
When Walsh took over everyone wondered who would be his QB. He yo-yo'd DeBerg and Montana until the latter became his HOF self. If Montana hadn't become a great QB he would have continued to work on finding that guy, but what he didn't do was bring in expensive spot holders in other positions as his predecessor did---Plunkett, OJ, etc.

The key will be getting young players to reach elite levels--Thomas, Foster, Buckner, Armstead, etc. If Garnett can come back and reach an elite level at OG it will greatly help Hoyer. The OL isn't helped by Hoyer's inability to make quick decisions.

To be absolutely fair here, this isn't a Tomsula situation with KS.

it was like 5 yards per carry.

and really, that average was padded out by 1 lucky run. Overall, the run blocking was terrible as usual. Seems like they abandoned the run after the 1st quarter and threw in the towel.

The problem is the Panthers realized our OL was like a set of hippie door beads. They look like they're blocking that door, but you can walk right through them without any effort. The Panthers sent 5 and 6 men every play.

Add in the fact that our outside zone running scheme doesn't work, and it became easy to stuff the run. And they stopped chasing the play action because they knew they could get into the backfield no problem.

I fully expect the Seahawks to exploit our OL the same way. Next week will not be entertaining at all. Especially when Pete schools "Soft Zone" Saleh.

Outside Zone run scheme didn't work? Carlos average 5 yards carry but only got two carries in the second half. That was by play choice because we were behind.

Those were all up the gut runs.

At least Hoyer is better than Kap. As long as he's not the reason the team struggles, I'm all for continuing to letting him start.

Hoyer is not better than Kap. Last year sucked but Kap was better than Hoyer was yesterday.
I don't think Kap is the answer but Hoyer was crap yesterday.

On the 49ers FB page, all the comments about people wanting Kaep back . Kaep is not the answer, neither is Hoyer.

Kizer might have been the answer.

How you going to tell Brian F'n Hoyer of all QBs "don't worry the job is all yours... you are the man, no competition .. don't sign with the Bills"

Brian has confidence building counceling for a reason. He calls it something different, but that is what it really is.

I've never believed in it.

That Walsh idiot sure made a mistake telling Steve F'n DeBerg that he was the starter. Totally Walsh's fault. What a hack HC.

BILL WALSH???? Really?????

You are already putting Kyle on his status? Or using him as a defense for Kyle?

If that is the case, along with many of your other posts in Kyle's threads...seems like you(and others blindly support anything he does) this is going to be a long year between us buddy o'l pal.. buckle up!

As for the others.. I don't hate Kyle and still believe in him... but I'm worried he is "too smart" or he thinks, for his own good... I don't want this to be another Josh McDaniels Broncos situatuon.

We had a guard these past few years that pass protected well.. but we constantly tried to force others to start over him... and Kyle let him go, because he wants his own players/*fit* his system... Now yall want to complain about guard issues? Pass protection issues? Please.

I said the same s**t about Nolan when he first got here and shipped away a bunch of players...just so he could establish his empty suit wearing self.

Our issue last year was halftime adjustments... we did well in the first half of games (at least with Kap) games were close. We have had the talent on both sides. As far as defense, O'Neal made it harder for our defense to just "play" along with weird alignments that opened up running lanes... and of course Chip and our offense not adjusting in the second half...tiring out our defense.

When folks scream KYLE IS TAKING OVER A 2-14 team!!!!111!! It was the coaches who had a big part in that, which is why they were fired after one year.
Very ugly loss. He needs to prepare these guys better.
