How any 49er fan is even remotely against Kyle is beyond me. Kyle represents a true return to our roots, and for me personally represents the "next generation" in the Walsh succession after Holmgren, Reid, Gruden, Mooch, etc. Kyle represents what we all wanted for 15 years following the Donahue/Erickson debacle.
how many winning seasons we had under Kyle?
1?
Going to be out of 4 and not even his most current.
I wonder when Jed starts the raising banners talks to the media.
Such a dumb take. Context is king.
Jed isn't moving on from Shanahan. Get real.
Walsh also had 3 losing seasons in his first 4 by the way.
Walsh also won a SB in his 4th season...I don't see that happening now.
Walsh won in his 3rd. Defense sealed the win in both NFCCG and SB, otherwise we're talking about how Walsh's 49ers blew a 20 point lead in SB 16 all these years later.
Then he went 3-6 in the strike shortened year four.
Year 5 is when the dominance of 10+ wins every season began. Drafting the second wave of quality conributor players is what sustained it. Montana also took further strides as a QB in 1983-1984 before the back injury. Became a dominant QB in 1984.
I don't see Jimmy following that path at this point, so Shanny is gonna have to find another guy. That guy will have weapons around him provided they are healthy. Need an answer at C, though.
