I gotta think there was something on film that play was meant to exploit, but it backfired spectacularly.

Why not? Bethard hasn't worked out, but that doesn't mean he can't find one.

Beathard also wasn't drafted as a 1st round playmaker talent instant starter QB. Unfair to judge a 3rd round development QB by the same standards as a 1st round QB. Totally different expectations.

Not every QB one attempts to develop become good QB's.

Barkley, Kolb, Foles, Hall, McNabb, Hogan, Murray and Mahomes. All Andy Reid developed QB's.

I swear there is something we can do in that situation, if something like that happens before the snap... I forget.

This. Jesus. Call a timeout!
Kyle will eventually get a ring. He is still very young and I know he will get it right. He has too much talent as a offensive mind to not get it done. The question is how long will it take to find a true franchise QB? It took Andy Reid how many years to get a Hall of Fame type qb

Tbf this upcoming QB class is pretty stacked... it'd be pretty darn difficult to get it wrong IMO.
Kyle is nothing but a very solid C student..

He does well with homework and class work, but when it comes to the Final Exam, he gets nothing but C and Ds..

And then defenses realized they can disguise their coverages and blitzes to prevent the O from calling a TO and changing the play.

Did Seattle disguise that, or was it evident of what was to come pre snap?

This isn't the first time he out thinks himself. Instead of just keeping it simple and try to get a first down and keep the drive going, he runs a play that has no chance.
