49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

What about the game plan we ran out against the vikings and Green Bay last year in the playoffs? Why does Kyle always overthink it in pivotal games? You only trust jimmy to throw short last week and it worked to keep the ball and sustain drives. This week, we play the QB who's having the best season of any player and you pull out a deeper drop and throwing the ball down the field into trouble. Jimmy hasn't shown he's capable of any throws down the field and our offensive line can't pass block on 7 step drops. Our coaches totally blew this game.

They weren't trying to throw down the field. Jimmy couldn't hit short passes.

Shanahan please don't ever use that Wildcrap play ever again!! That was probably the most boneheaded thing I've seen him do since he was hired!!

Throwing the ball 10 yards past the line of scrimmage and out in the flats is considered "Down field", for the qb who throws a perfect flutter ball. His ball is the worst ball in the nfl. Don't care if he has a fast release, it flutters through the air. He's a one pitch pitcher. It's a flutter ball!

We didn't have the personnel on the field to run the game plan we ran in the playoffs last year. We didn't even have the personnel to run what we ran last week.

The truth is, injuries and the QB play is holding the game plan back. Full stop.

The creator of last week's masterpiece looked in the cupboard and it was bare. Mostert who started last week, didn't suit up, as he is still injured. So Wilson came in and set the place on fire. He looked just like mostert. But he got injured also. That leaves Hasty ...and McKinnon. Hasty had a great few snaps last week, and looked super. As the #1 RB, and wiht suddenly no OL run blocking, nor Pass blocking, he became very pedestrian....ie ordinary. So to give him a blow McK comes in. And he just flat out cannot run the ball. He's a pass catching RB. He is NOT a runner. Maybe before both of his injuries, but not now. And kyle using him to get some snaps, and give Hasty a blow....should have been only for catching passes. As a RB....he just doesn't have it any longer.

What happened to Coleman? I thot he was okay to play. Any news on that front.?

Then we have the sighting of Pettis returning a KO that could have gone into the EZ, and coming out gets nailed at what ? 10 yd line and proceeds to fumble? TD SEA a few short plays later.

Kittle got hurt. Kwon IS hurt. Jimmy is hurt. Mostert hurt, Wilson hurt. Richburg out and hurt. Both Ss are hurt and out. Both DE starters are out, Bosa for season. And on it goes.

And that is what happened to last week's creator. His butcher bill at the hospital is way more than he or we can afford. Yet it keeps on growing.

Just a thot, but this is not like it isn't self induced. Look around the league and there are more injuries right now that at any time ever in NFL. And one thing keeps cropping up...a shortened PS with OTAs barely , limited practice, TC abbreviated, no PS, and what happens? Half the damn league is on I.R., but worse here than anywhere. It is not a curse, it very likely very much due to the foolish league having to play this season rather than allowing each and every team to warm up, practice and ease into things.

What the NFL did? To me is criminal. I didn't call it at the time but did wonder about a shortened camp. And due to that, i believe, , injuries have been at an all time high. I really wonder what the league officials are saying about injuries and the shortened pre season? Truly i wonder if they realize what they are responsible for?
He sucks. Just a loser. His playing calling was atrocious today.

3rd and 5 in the first drive he calls a wild cat? What a dumb f**k

2nd and 10 after the seahawks go up 13-7, he calls a lateral pass to taylor. You stupid piece of s**t. Your taylor experiment is garbage.

3 and out coming out of the half down 13-7.

To me those three things really cost the game.

Calm down, it wasn't his best game but your negative energy is uncalled for.

I appreciate the response. Disagree with the long effort. Our offensive line and qb were there today. Kittle was there. Ayuk was there. Hasty has enough juice to make guys miss and get through the line with burst. The difference in hasty and mostert is the break away speed. Shanahan never committed to the run today. If you think he did, we didn't watch the same game. Coleman has old legs and the jet isn't a jet. Hasty was our best chance even with his fumble. Shanahan should of played keep away and do what we do best. Run the ball and throw short high percentage throws and get the yac. Spread them wide. It looked like we played the game Seattle wanted us to play and we looked bad. That wasn't our style and it wasn't a winnable gameplan.
The defense is at a big disadvantage with no pass rush. Our whole defense works around rushing 4 and getting to the qb. That side of the ball we are playing without.
That's exactly my point. Our coaches planned and our players didn't execute. We all know if we win this year, we'll have to score more points because of the injuries. Godd thing we got the best young play caller in the nfl...wait a minute. After gameplans like today's makes me and some rethink.

Now Mr. Gilbert Brink edits his title.
Gilbert is right in his article, but that headline did give me a chuckle
Webzone needs to shut down these fan articles. They thought running backs breaking the huddle in practice were heading to Arby's for lunch. Grammar is embarrassing and now we have some fan getting on the front page calling for Shanny to be on the hot seat. Jfc. His entire team is injured including the QB and they are still in the playoff hunt (expanded by one team). This fan says shanny "featured" Hasty... umm yeah man the rest of the Arby's are hurt, including Coleman.

Embarrassing article. The zone aggregates real articles and opinion pieces from creditable writers, why the need for drunk fans at the bar typing up some nonsense?
