And if Kittle didn't get drafted here he would have never been hurt. If Kittles dad used a rubber he would have never been hurt.

Ummm I couldn't be the only one...knowing how horrendous luck and injuries have been to this team...yelling at the TV to pull starters when the game was outta hand.

Maybe KS designs the plays but let someone else call them in the game? He seems to be a great players coach. And we know he designs some great game plans. Maybe it's time to let someone else call the play so Kyle can concentrate more of game managing. idk just a thought.

If he's not calling plays then what is he managing? He's certainly not touching the defense and shouldn't be. One of the major reasons you hire someone like Shanahan is because he is your offense and his playcalling ability is at the top of the league.

This is just people overreacting to the moment rather than thinking rationally. The 49ers right now have worse injury issues than any other team in football. You can bounce back from only so many injuries before your entire roster readiness and ability to execute is compromised. When you have this many guys off the practice squad and the street, you're going to have some major struggles, its just how it goes. Fans can deal with that reality rationally or get overly emotional and start demanding that they do everything differently than what already got them to a SB just a year ago.

There's lots of coaches that don't call the plays. What do they do? Some would argue that his play calling isn't that great in late game situations like Superbowls. I'm not saying he sucks by any means. His play designs are top of the league. The wildcat play call yesterday for example was one he would want back. I understand he may be limited with the personnel. He still tries to call plays that aren't run as well with backups as they are with the starters. Everything is situational.

I'm not over emotional, thinking irrationally, or demanding anything. Nice assumptions though. Put yourself in timeout Just thinking outside the box.

I do think Shanahan needs to take a hard look at his coaching staff in the offseason. Robert Saleh, regardless of the record, has shown an ability to adapt and field competitive defenses this year without Bosa, Ford, Sherman, Buckner, K Williams, and Tartt. He'll most likely get a head coaching job and will take 1-2 assistants on each side of the ball with him. McDaniel on offense, and Oden/Holland on D

Additionally, I think Benton, Day, and Hightower are on the chopping block. Benton due to poor OL play (regardless of injuries, Brunskill and McGlinchey have regressed). Day due to poor QB play. And Hightower due to poor LS and lack of creative ST plays.

I wouldn't worry about it.

I will be shocked if Saleh gets a head coaching job next year.

Not saying he hasn't been good. But we haven't even hit the hard part of the schedule yet. Wilson just lit this defense up. I am predicting that Rodgers and Brees will do the same thing

Ward's father should have used a rubber
Kyle is a OC at heart. He loves the Xs and Os. The problem is the HC has other responsibilities. He's so involved in calling plays that he often says after the game that he didn't see this or that happen on the field. Jimmy Johnson who I think was a great HC had an OC, a DC and a special teams coordinator. He let them design and call the plays after he told them what kind of D he wanted or what kind of offense he preferred. He said he attended all the meetings and offered input but he felt letting them do the play calling allowed him to mange game situations better. I'm sure he called in a play now and then but it sure worked for him. I don't know if that would work for Kyle but he is new and occasionally makes some weird play calls for a guy that's so bright.
Being 4-4 in the toughest division with 40% of his starting roster left, including missing all their premiere playmakers except Warner, seems Kyle is looking to make the next 8 games an extended pre-season tryout for 2021, and I can't really blame him. Just gotta accept reality of the circumstances at this point.
I think coach shanahan is done with Jimmy at QB. After the game when he was asked if Jimmys ankle was responsible for his poor play he said you're going to have to ask Jimmy that question because he had a great week of practice. Seems like he didn't check on jimmy post game to get a feel for what's going on.
That gilbert brink article wasnt wrong. I'm feeling that superbowl appearance was an anomaly. Everything came together last year perfectly. 4 years in and the team is in disarray. The salary cap is a mess, the team doesn't have a qb, yuck.

The team is in disarray because of nearly all the top playmakers being injured, not because of the coaching. Most other coaches would have been 1-7 or 2-6 in these same circumstances.

Most coaches can beat the Jets and Giants. 2-6 is the absolute floor
