49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

I ain't giving no passes. We knew since 2012 the league was going to the mobile QB. We doubled down on idiocy and passed on premium talent for Beathard and we traded for an unproven Jimmy. What the hell did we think was gonna happen. Our defense last year ONLY struggled vs athletic QBs and now we want to act surprised. SMH

I love that we have a brilliant coach but he has to not be so stubborn and realize that the best 49er offenses I ever saw were under Steve Young. He was nobody's statue

This is a great post.

Shanahan needs to stop p***y footing and draft a legit QB for his offense in the 1st round this year. For better or worse. We need a mobile QB because defenses are faster now then they were 20-30 years ago. It doesn't even have to be a Lamar Jackson running QB, just a guy who is mobile and can do rollouts and the like.

Could have drafted Mahomes instead of taking Buckner Lite.

He'll pass on the next Mahomes looking for the next Cousins while drafting the next Beathard.

The time to draft a rookie QB was when Mahomes and Watson were available.

Huge error.

Could have drafted Aaron Rodgers instead of Alex Smith or Tom Brady instead of Carmazzi.

Andy Reid could have had Russell Wilson instead of Nick Foles.

Welcome to the NFL where the draft is not a science.
I remember when Kyle was suppose to be a QB whisperer.

He made Jimmy G look good. That's impressive

Yeah, just not this year.
Have to think about using Juszczyk in short yardage and goal line with Dwelley lead blocking this week.

WooLick you're like an echo lol...yes we know and understand what happened with Mahomes. We get it, time to get over it dude.

In reality Mahomes should have been the #1 pick in the draft. Scouts and GMs had their reservations on him. I do believe Kyle said Mahomes was his top graded QB in that draft. There was also an article out last week talking about how Kyle realizes the landscape of the QB is changing and mobility is important.

It was his first draft as a HC. mistakes were made. There's also a bit of a butterfly affect if we do take Mahomes (at 2), which would have resulted in no Bosa or Warner. Possibly lower picks in 2018, who knows maybe not Kittle because they might have taken a DL instead (not taking Thomas) in all yes Mahomes is better than all those players. "What ifs" and hindsight is 20/20 isn't really an affective way to judge everything imo. Did you think Mahomes was gonna be a superstar? Or were you hoping Myles Garnett would drop?

If we did end up with Kirk, maybe he turns into a top end QB? We don't really know. Just too many what ifs to dwell on it at this point.

I would take Mahomes over all the players that we selected.
Exactly, with Mahomes we wouldn't need a Nick Bosa. We would still have had the chance to have everyone else and loaded up in building a team around Pat Mahomes. Also it's possible the real dominos affect is we might have went and drafted DK Metcalf who would fit with a QB who could best use him. Metcalf on the 49ers also keeps Seattle from getting him. The other thing is it keeps us over Seattle forever and we own this NFCW like the Patriots owned the AFC EAST for years with Brady. Passing on Mahomes has had a huge negative effect on our future. Seattle now owns the best offensive duo in the division and will do so for a long time. We may never gain a true advantage over them until Wilson is gone.

It's time to start thinking of the FUTURE... or we'll be similar to the Marvin Lewis at Cincy... always looking competitive, but always not enough...

Lynch must decide whether or not he needs to stay true to a friend of his in Kyle, or pursue greatness of being a GM.

We all gave Kyle the credit on the Rams and Patriots win, so it's time to accept the Seattle loss all to himself as well..

horrible take moon.

Kyle has been scheming his nuts off for the past couple seasons. He's been hiding a QB with limitations and WHY in the f**k are we not bringing up the mountain of injuries

stop being silly.

oh, you must have been ignoring some of my posts my friend... I've over and over repeatedly posted that the blame is 80% due to injuries..

but I also came to realization that this team will always be a very good team waiting to have a great year like last year..

Jimmy was good last year, and he's bad this year.. so I'm willing to give him another year just to be fair but the organization must decide what to do w/him.

The jury still out on Lynch because he too had made some bad decisions, drafted good to great players as well as questionable to bad ones..

As for Shanny, he makes this things very difficult.. He's a great play designer, but it does not mean he's a good coach.. he's easy to out coach in my opinion..

The guy coaches differently when the game is close.. he tends to coach NOT TO LOSE INSTEAD OF TO WIN.. and I'm sorry over and over, this is what I notice from this guy.. then some of the calls he makes, it makes you wonder if he's watching the game or not..

I don't know what to say, I'm just really so disappointed... we have players who I really wish that they get rid of but still w/ the team..

ShanaLynch certainly have their blind spots.

I just hope 2020 doesn't divide them.

I do not know why he gets it into his head to try to outsmart himself. as if he is trying to show the world how smart he is. reminds of roman at times

SIMPLY because he wants to make sure that when the team wins, he is the MVP..

... 2020 will not devide them because of the injuries, but IF Lynch keeps the same team and add good pieces, and we stay healthy next year, Shanny better produce nothing less than NFCCG.
I can´t believe that some guys here are saying that with Mahomes we wouldn´t have Bosa as if that was something bad

Dudes, Mahomes is a QB that will go to the HOF as one of the best ever and is a once in a generation talent. With Mahomes we would be contenders every freaking year for the next 15 years with or without a good defense.

With Bosa we still need a good QB to be contenders.

I love Bosa but having a QB like Mahomes is way more important than having a pass-rusher.
