49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

Kyle is so f**king legit, I just hope he gets the qb that he can do things like he did in 16'. With all the pre movements, jet sweeps, running game and if he can get a qb that can attack down the field that gets opposing secondaries to respect the deep pass I don't see how we're not averaging 30. This team has more than enough talent to attack every part of the field. They gotta get much letter pass protecting tho, this team when healthy god willing next year will be back
Can we all agree that shanahan did a terrible job coaching this year? I don't want to hear injury excuses. Look at mike tomlin last year. That team was ravaged by injuries yet he had that team competitive every week and a game away from the playoffs. This team has looked atrocious.

explain what air yards is? explain what that data is talking about with air yards?

It's NOT just about throwing bombs. It's about how much you TRUST your QB to actually throw the ball. When you're asking your QB to throw it short of the 1st down marker more than any QB in football, that's a problem. When you're avg the lest amount of air yards in the league that's a lack of trust.

You're acting like Jimmy is asked to do something special and in reality he's the definition of a game manger. Why do we have to pay $28M a yr for that? Let's lose GOOD football players and leave absolutely not option to replenish those losses so we can keep him. WTF?

Listen, if you think Jimmy can take a 2021 roster deep into plays that will have MUCH LESS talent...fine. I DO NOT see that as a reality. Let's be objective here. It's not about being a fan IMO.

What better timing to run the ball then? Especially against such a bad run defense.

When you're down 20 pts in a matter of a QR & have a makeshift OL that they had to scramble to put together in 24 hrs? simply not realistic

Smear him relax lol. It's simply the truth. He's an avg talent with avg abilities overall. Guys like Young and Simms have even stated it. Crocker has said it

He can't stay healthy. He makes a ton of money and if you look at the data and film you can clearly see Kyle doesn't ask Jimmy to win him games. He doesn't ask Jimmy to make this hard tight window throws.

We don't have wear my rose colored glasses in order to be a fan. He is who he is.

Relax, dude you need to relax if anything. Everything I read from you it's Jimmy didn't do this or didn't do that.

Jimmy has made a lot of mistakes in his career I agree, but I don't forget what he's done as a healthy starter. I don't say s**t like he didn't have to do much to take his team to the Super Bowl, are you f**kin kidding me. lol

You're such a f**king joke of a troll. Tomlin only lost his damn qb, he didn't lose his best offensive players, he didn't lose neither Watt or Dupree, they added Fitzpatrick and didn't have f**king 80 mil on IR. Do research before you start talking bs

Kyle was able to scheme guys open all day for Jimmy. He's bottom of the league in big time % throws since 2017 (32nd out of 33). He was never asked to make a bunch of tight window throws or push the ball downfield. SF was a running team last yr as well. Overall he wasn't asked to be some huge playmaking QB.

At some point if you're gonna pay a QB like a FQB he's got to play like one when everything else is s**t.
Shanahan has to have everything perfect to look good. He's a good OC, great offensive mind. He isn't a head coach. Look at his record after 4 years. Great coaches make their teams competitive no matter what. I've never seen this shanahan team competitive without garapollo.

How's this IDGAF about air yards and any silly ass Next gen stat.

20+ mil is the price you pay for a franchise QB.

And I rest my case, you're right, you don't smear Jimmy G every chance you get.

This is turning right into a Jimmy G thread. smfh. Move this to the Jimmy G. thread.

Yes because I can point to a ton of things when it comes to Jimmy didn't do this or that lol.

What he's done as a healthy starter is be a good game manger. I give him props for that. He isn't consistent and hasn't developed past that. He's very similar to Dalton and Smith IMO. He just happens to play on a elite roster in 2019 and have a top 5 HC calling plays.

I love Jimmy and wanted him to be the guy but damn it I agree with all this. If you're getting paid like that you have to be able to make game changing explosive plays and not have your coach baby sit you. At the end of the day I really feel Kyle is so held back by his short comings and can't really do what he wants on offense.

Air yards belong to the receiver more so than the quarterback. A quarterback's job is to deliver the ball on time and on target to a receiver who has earned the target. A receiver's job is to run his assigned routes—routes tailored specifically to his unique skill set—and earn those targets. Because the depth of the route is completely in the hands of the receiver, and the longer the throw the lower the YAC and catch rate, it makes sense that depth of target—air yards—is an incredibly powerful way to understand receiver performance.

How do you explain the miami game? The Cardinals game? Even the eagles game? Explain it to me. I'm not talking packers. I'm talking all other years. How about year 2? They only lost garapollo and went 4-12 to get bosa.

Lol Shanahan's 1st year where we were in a dog fight with the Rams the team that made the SB the following year with f**king Hoyer. Then the rest of the season where this rebuilding team he got lost games by like 3 almost every game. You're acting like he took control of a SB winning team, I don't care who you are, belichick with all these injuries wouldn't have this team winning. Speaking of him look at his team now without Brady or talent he's struggling. You're such a hater bruh
