I just wondered if you have any response to that thought process?

"I mean, the third party from another team, I wouldn't really get much into, but yeah, I don't mind talking about that. Some people practice with pads on Wednesdays. Some people do on Thursdays. I believe guys are too sore on Wednesdays, not recovered from the game. I don't even keep the pads on for all Thursday. So, we keep them on for the first two periods of practice, a pass protection period and a run period. So, I feel pretty good about that. I think we do it as little as anyone in the NFL."

Did you guys see this?

What's the confusion? Did you think they played full go in pads all week in practice?

I just don't like the fact that someone is talking...

Oh gotcha, it was probably Pettis since he doesnt like contact sports

non-story...actually quite dumb.

Yeah, Kyle slapped back rather bluntly to this idea.

"I mean, a third party from another team, I wouldn't think much into," Shanahan said. "But yeah, I don't mind talking about that. Some people practice with pads on Wednesdays. Some people do on Thursdays. I believe guys are too sore on Wednesdays and not recovered from the game.

He did have a plan (Cousins as free agent). That you don't like that plan doesn't negate it existing.

He allegedly had that plan and abandoned it. It is irrelevant.

How many losing seasons will he be given to right the ship?

I like him too but he has to win.

Oh I don't know how about when he doesn't have $80M worth of talent on IR.

So, 2024?

Aside from perhaps Ford, is there any big money guy on IR not expected back next season? I don't think there is.

He abandoned it because Jimmy Garoppolo became available, they took a chance on him, and he balled out.

Of course it's relevant, because it disproves your broken record b******t about not having a plan pre-JG trade.

He deserves a pass for this season because of all the injuries. However he does need to address the injuries it's just not normal to have this many. Maybe make some changes in training methods and acquiring injury prone players. Something must change

I agree, pass for this year but I don't see the fans giving him another one next season.

LOL the plan was clear as day....kirk was gonna be a FA and they thought they would have an extremely good chance at getting him. THEN BB called up and asked if they wanted Jimmy before the trade deadline. It was totally worth doing it and he balled out for the last 5 games. At that point we all know what happened. Also won a SB In the process.

I agree on acquiring injury prone players via trade/FA. I mean end of the day how to you prevent broken bones and ankle injuries? that's just football.

The first time I said anything about Kyle having a plan was today after NY made a comment about Kyle not planning for things to happen, it was tongue in cheek.

The comments defending the qb situation by pointing to Cousins are silly.

Dude isn't going anywhere any time soon. Get healthier and a better QB and SF is a hard out every sunday with Kyle.

The Giants/Jets turf seemed to do the most damage to the team. Game 2 against the Jets: Bosa, Thomas, Jimmy g, Mostert, Coleman, DJ Jones, Greenlaw

I'm wondering if the 49ers rush players back to early and it leads to more injuries.

Who's talking about giving him a pass next season? We need to see how they try to restock in the offseason. We don't know how Shanalynch will react to this year yet. We actually have already seen them make a couple moves fans were afraid they never would (moving on from Pettis, trading Kwon).

Even with all that, chances of there being a better HC candidate out there are slim. He's already got the team to a SB when the talent level was solid. No reason to look that gift horse in the mouth. The grass is not greener on the other side. [insert appropriate idiom here]
