I agree on acquiring injury prone players via trade/FA. I mean end of the day how to you prevent broken bones and ankle injuries? that's just football.

stay away from players who are injury prone. it seems like that is all we ever invest in

Let's hope they've learned their lesson regarding Injured players.

People know that our team is good and that its simply injured, but nobody really wants to say that because it sounds like an excuse. Now it's gotta be made like it's the teams fault itself its injured. That's what the media and this thread is doing.

But the answer is really simple. Take Mahomes, Kelce, Watkins, Hill out and how many teams are they beating with HoF coach Andy Reid? And that's just four guys. This isnt rocket science.

This. We are the most injured team in NFL HISTORY thru the first 9 games. We are the best nfc team when healthy. Hell relatively healthy even.

He did have a plan (Cousins as free agent). That you don't like that plan doesn't negate it existing.

He allegedly had that plan and abandoned it. It is irrelevant.

He abandoned it because Jimmy Garoppolo became available, they took a chance on him, and he balled out.

Of course it's relevant, because it disproves your broken record b******t about not having a plan pre-JG trade.

Truth but still glad we didn't get cousins

I don't care if he did or didn't have a plan. The fact that his plan was cousins scares s**t out of me
Shanahan resurrected us from the post Harbaugh dark age and got us one quarter from #6 in only year 3 of his tenure (would've won it if the QB executed better). He deserves our patience.

I dont. I do not fault him for the results of 2017 and 2018. I do fault him for the errors made those years. The drafts, the free agents etc. Those have resulted in a roster that is in turmoil.

The roster is injured not in turmoil, stop being so dramatic. Just like every damn team you can point out what if's and misses.

COVID killed much needed cap space to reigning some guys and make upgrades (for every team) SO the guy with the most available cap space might have to be moved...fine with moving an avg QB to improve the overall roster.

Its not Covid, it has nothing to do with Covid,

Solomon Thomas sucked regardless of COVID
Reuben Foster was a disaster. The red flags were everywhere. Still drafted him. Not Covid
Dee Ford, he had one good year. Lets give a 2nd and a huge contract. Not Covid
Lets trade up for Dante Pettis. Not Covid.
Lets Draft CJ Beathard. Not Covid
Lets draft a punter in the 4th. Not Covid
Lets Draft Joe Williams. Not Covid
Lets keep Ward. Not Covid
Lets sign Mckinnon to a large contract. Not Covid
Lets restructure Ford and Richburg. Not Covid
Lets keep Trent Taylor. Not Covid
Lets dump Buckner, but sign Armstead to a huge contract. Not covid.

Just admit that mistakes were made. We can agree that the team needs to move on and hopefully do better.
you can lie to yourself all you want.. but all teams miss not just ours.. a lot of team would love our misses and make a Super bowl..especially the teams who nevre made a SB

Thats a lot of missing.

and still made the super bowl with a carousel of injuries. Most teams can't function with one miss/injury.

Too bad the injury bug hit us worst this year or we would have had a great season again

1. That's literally how players get paid. Who's paying a player top money based on what he's gonna do in the future?

And that is how team get buyers remorse.

the amount of overreaction on the webzone these last couple weeks is hillarious. people really forget where this team has been the last decade an where we are now. idiots.
Maybe this belongs in the JL thread but I need to clarify something.

What the 9ers did with Buckner is exactly what happens when you draft well.

You get a guy in the draft and he becomes elite. For instance Buckner.

You can't pay high prices for everyone. They got Bosa and he made Buckner expendable. Pay AA and we get almost same production with Bosa. Obviously we have seen without, we suck.

Let other teams pay out the ass for our picks when we can get a younger version for cheaper (Kinlaw).

You're always rotating guys in and out on the team. Some players are core. Warner, Bosa, trent williams, to name 3. Williams is an example of us getting the elite guy. Gona have to pay to keep. Maybe won't.

A good GM and coach will figure out how to sustain a winning team without breaking the bank. It's whats supposed to keep the NFL competitive.

Teams are ever evolving, they never stay the same. This team would have been good this year without all the injuries.

im sorry but the truth is needed right now. soooooo much overreaction. our roster is decimated by injury to historic levels an everyone wants to find a palyer or coach to blame.
