Criticism of people in authority positions is absolutely fair, people shouldn't say otherwise if they want to be taken seriously. Look at any institution or Government leadership and there is always room for criticism if you're an honest intelligent person. Educated criticism is what matters though, knowing the facts that decisions and plans are based on is of utmost importance. Kyle's critique this year should be much different then last given the surrounding situation of the team. However based on what we've seen him do to some of the best coaches in the game he is a top play caller and designer. He is young still. His leadership skills will likely continue to change with age and experience. The question is how many fans want to ride the good and the bad? It's like marriage in a way. You find someone unique who is utterly intriguing at first and learn the good and bad about them. You don't just quit because there are things you don't like or you'll never succeed. That is not to say there isn't a limit however I don't think we're close to that yet, lots more to see.

Well said and I think there is some major overreaction in the forum. I'm very happy to have Kyle as a HC. Only part I disagree with you is his play calling. I think that could be much improved. He is probably the best play designer in the league, but calling plays is something he can still improve on. Would love to see him stay out of the draft room as well, but that's a different story.

Yeah, I agree - we're a good team when healthy. Just a shame we wasted a year because of all the injuries.

Name one team who can win with their starting QB, #1 WR, #1 All pro TE, #1 RB, #2 RB, #3 RB, and their starting center out. Not to mention the i furies on defense.

I will wait.

We picked out our qb, drafted our tight ends/ receivers, and running backs. If they're injury prone who does that fall on?

Just an example but how many cookies should Shanny get for bringing in Jimmy the injury riddled average QB over drafting Mahomes?

You want to give him a free pass that's fine but this is his roster.

This is such a bad take. Also anyone that brings up Mahomes loses all credibility. Shannan is a stud and has built an awesome roster. Still failed to answer the question above, shockingly injuries happen in a sport with contact. Based on your theory we should've never drafted Frank Gore.

I don't have to answer it because unless you build that roster it's not your problem. Injuries happen/ some of it's bad luck/ but bringing in Reed to backup Kittle that's not bad luck. We all know how that plays out should Kittle get hurt and with his style of play that's certainly a risk.

And we passed on Mahomes with Brian Hoyer as our qb. No one is losing any credibility because it's a fact. Mahomes went 13th with KC trading away a ton to get him. It's not like he was some 4th round project. We just screwed the pooch on that one.

Now that it's been said 1000 times, I've changed my mind. Fire everyone in the organization for passing on Mahomes.

Also, rehire everyone that passed on Tom Brady in the draft..... then fire them again!

Brady was a 6th rounder. That's excusable. This is like Gruden passing on Rodgers for Cadillac Williams. He shouldn't be fired over it but he blew his chance at a franchise changing QB and will likely flame out now.

The Mahomes thing is laughable. A better example would be Watson, he was at least a thought when coming out. Nobody was screaming to grab Mahomes, give me break. This place would've gone nuts drafting him 2nd overall. I love when fans say we should've have drafted such and such.
I see this thread is being predictably stupid....

What fans think is a laughable response. No coach/ GM should ever give a sh about that. If you don't have a QB all top qb's should be heavily looked into. I guess we really needed that 3rd dt though.

But back to Shanny I'll drop the Mahomes stuff here.

Oh I hated the Thomas pick, but yes back to Shanny. I love the guy and think he is a brilliant mind but does sometimes out thinks himself. Yesterday 3rd and 1, get behind the center and run the ball.
