Don't be silly. There were people talking about Mahomes and Watson.

Drafting Buckner lite was much more ridiculous than taking an actual need. I hated that pick.

Mahomes was a consensus late 1st. Lot of the initial reaction was KC reached.

Mahomes was nowhere near the talk of Watson and it hurts me to say Tribusky or however you spell it. Hell we should just as happy they didn't draft Mitch!

Lol it is his own fault for neglecting the QB position.
Anyone who is criticizing Kyle and Lynch can send their resume to Bicentennial way in Santa Clara and apply for the job. Give me a frickin break, the Niners went to the SB last season. We finally have watchable football. Even yesterday, I thought we would get blown out and the team was competitive for the first half.

Did Kyle and Lynch tell the ST players to muff two punts??

Are franchise qb's hard to find??

is it the coach an GM's fault that all of the key positions and 80 % of salary cap is on Ir??
Kyle should bring in his dad Mike to be his OC and eyes from the sky(booth) on game days. A guy with that much experience seeing the whole field to determine the defense's weakness can make a big difference.

Traded a 2nd for Jimmy everyone and their mama thought he was the chosen one in here lol.
again...the comments in here are beyond stupid.

Lynch did. Shanny already said that he was surprised by that. Cousins was supposed to be a 49er in the off season.

I hate to be that guy but this is really why I can't stand going to games. The fans comments annoy the hell out of me. How can you not like Shannan?
Lamest play from yesterday, outside of the street bs call, Beatherd comes in for a play. His one saving grace is his arm. James gets behind the defense for what should have been a TD and he under throws him by like 5 yards lol. Wtf

All I have to say is that he needs a QB sneak, Fullback dive, Halfback dive with Juszczyk at Halfback on 3rd & 1 and 4th & 1 in his playbook. Other than that rock on Shanahan.

Kyle was on board with Jimmy and was just surprised the Pats were willing to trade him. Lets not act like he didn't want to trade for jimmy. It was a good trade but unfortunately for us Jimmy may not be the franchise QB we thought he was going to be.

Direct quote from Kyle:

"I know Bill was a big fan and I enjoyed talking to him about it," Shanahan said Wednesday when reflecting on the Garoppolo trade. "Helped me out with stuff, stuff that probably will stay between Bill and I, but he was a great guy to deal with. It's always hard to get trades done, but when you deal with someone who is just about football and pretty simple in everything else, it's easy to get stuff done and that's why it's really fun dealing with someone like Bill when you're trying to make two teams better."
I have been saying this since last year. As great as Kyle's play designs and playbook is, there is something missing with his in-game playcalling flow. Norv Turner didn't have complicated plays but his in-game play calling flow is one of the best.

Kyle does great with flow when it comes to the run game, but he doesn't seem to take advantage of individual player flow, QB rhythm, and other intangible things that get offensive players in that zone.

He came in with Hoyer, drafted Beathard and Mullens. When the season was heading for disaster, we had to use draft capital to get an unknown QB, who ended up being injury prone looking average at best. And if the plan was to tank the first season and go after Cousins, that was incredibly risky and likely would have ended in a bust as Cousins is looking average as well.

Since then, instead of getting a vet backup, or draft someone to groom just in case, we had Mullens and Beathard sitting on the sidelines. That to me is poor management.

Usually, a new regime comes in with a high draft pick and chooses a qb to groom and get a vet or someone to hold place until the rookie is ready. Ideally, we should have went with a qb. The sad part is there were two there for us, including the current best QB in the league.

And yea, fans were excited to go from Beathard and Mullens to Jimmy G. But we don't measure a coach or GM based on what fans thought. I was super excited for jimmy g and it ended up this way. That doesn't mean anything. Fans get excited about many players that never even see a snap.
Can we just admit that Kyle's offense isn't a QB friendly offense? It is a RB friendly offense. Kyle's passing offense heavily restricts and micromanages a QB while at the same time being extremely complicated for a QB. Kyle's history has shown that he doesn't want a mobile QB because that "ruins" his play design.
