Based on this season so far, McVay seems like a leader with a fresh offensive mind. Shanahan just seems like kind of a nerd and self-appointed genius with a needlessly overly complex offensive system. Hopefully, I'm wrong, but looks like the Rams are the rising power in the division.

Give Shanahan Harbaugh's 2011 roster and he goes 13-3, too, I'd wager.
I wholeheartedly disagree with this. Where Shanahan may end up being a better coach, Harbaugh system and coaching style was a lot more player friendly. The players we had were able to excel under him right away. Even if we had some stud playmakers on this team this year, I would not expect them to be playing out of their minds until year 2 or year 3.
10-6 or 11-5 then. You get my point though - Shanny likely would have won with the 2011 roster, too.

They both look like great hires for their respective teams. By 2020 they'll be the two teams duking it out for the division while Arizona and Seattle are trying to overcome the loss of a lot of vets they've leaned on for the last 5-7 years.

lets wait till KS wins 1 game before we start proclaiming him as a coach that can win a Super Bowl...

His offense seems to be better coached and not as sloppy as ours.
Is this what all that film study tells you? I'd love to see the numbers Kyle would put up with the rams personnel.

Who said anything about a coach that can win a Super Bowl? I was comparing the roster talent of the 2017 squad and the 2011 squad, and based on his coaching style, I think it's pretty clear Shanny would have won a good amount of games with the 2011 roster.
Harbaugh has yet to prove he's a coach that can win a Super Bowl, BTW.

One game and they are anointing McVay Bill Walsh.

Shanny has yet to show he can win a game.

and by that logic Shanahan has yet to prove he can win a single NFL game, yet you proclaim he would have won games with the 2011 roster.
Do you not see the logical inconsistencies of your opinion???

Took Walsh 10 games to prove it, too.

With regards to the whole Shanahan vs McVay talk:
We're rolling over > $60,000,000 in cap to next season.
They're currently $400k over the salary cap.
We are already competitive with them and have much greater flexibility moving forward

Are you unable to apply his approach to coaching and playcalling and not extrapolate eventual wins with better roster talent?
By your estimation, Walsh would never win a game either based on his 0-3 (eventually 0-9) start in 1979.
It's a prediction based on some strong indications of coaching style and approach.

Nope....all coaches are what they did their first year
So all these guys we're obviously flops:
Walsh 2-14
Noll 1-13
jimmy Johnson 1-15

so by saying that his offense is better coached than ours that makes him Bill Walsh?
