I predicted six wins this year. Some called me an optimist for predicting that, even.

I predicted the same, and I'm thinking of rethinking that now.

Norv has had a long and well respected career in the NFL.... highly thought of in the booth, and the holder of multiple NFL jobs.

As just a playcaller, he's better then Gruden was. For your original comparo, you should have said holmgren vs Andy Reid....at least that way you woulda had them running the correct offensive systems.

The comparison wasn't about offensive systems.

Oh I know, it was a ridiculous attempt to paint McVay as a super bowl winning coach and Kyle as a guy that's only a good coordinator or a coach that can't win a title. At least by using Holmgren and Reid you could've conveyed the same ridiculous attempt and at least had continuity in their actual offensive systems.

Right there with you man!

Me, too.

Seriously after last couple years im bullet proof lol.
You wont catch me acting..

I got way too much of this in me..

I thought a Norv comparison was highly complimentary and somewhat generous.... I did consider Marc Trestman initially.

Football is such a crazy game. In soccer, you can play 2-3 scrimmages a week and then go play a game that counts on Sunday. Football gets none of that and there is no substitution for the real game environment against various styles of opponents. At the end of the day, this new 53 has play just 3 games together.

... baby steps and expect a few stumbles along the way.

I am very patient & also very excited to see where the progress of this team is at the last 4 or 5 weeks of the season! Not only the players but also the coaches & both systems on both sides of the ball

Damn right! I'm rewatching the game now and this REAL offensive gives me a hetero football boner. (After Chryst and Kelly this is night and day scheme wise) As far as personnel I'm big on Garcon and Taylor. These two guys will be on our squad for a few years. Goodwin still has much to prove but we need a big/tall guy opposite Garcon with Taylor in the slot. Goodwin may stick around as a deep threat if he can catch more balls this year.

Scheme wise it's there. Biggest issue so far this year has been blocking and Hoyer/Goodwin in the first two games but as the season goes on our guys will gel more. IMO (on offense) we'll be going after QB, gaurd and WR in the 2018 draft/free agency.

I expect a couple more offensive stinkers like the first two games but I also expect some high flying offense when our line blocks and Hoyer is on. Shanahan isn't the issue on offense it's the lack of talent.

I don't think we need to worry about our offense long term. We'll get a QB, WR and blockers by 2018. Only thing I'm worried about this year is our defense. I want to see them vastly improve against the run this year. I don't think we'll see a good pass rush manifest this year. We need an edge rusher. Bad. We need Foster in there running sideline to sideline. He just has that "it" factor when he's on the field.

I think we win 3-4 games this year. My ideal scenerio would be 2 wins but while being very competitive on defense. We need a QB big time and Darnold/Rosen will be within reach if we're drafting top 2 so a bad record wont bother me at all this year.

Or if we land Cousins we'll have a first rounder to spend on a pass rusher. No matter what happens we're in a position to drastically improve in 2018 (five draft picks within the first three rounds and 100 million in cap space).

People just need to be patient.

You're so full of s**t, man. After the Seattle game you had no defensive worries. 49ers' were lights out, able to rush RW, stop the run, citing rush YPC etc. You were all high and mighty, saying how this year is only about installing the defense. You could not help yourself saying how I was being pessimistic, and that everyone should be content with a defense that held the All-Madden Seahawks' offense to 12 points. Yet the 49ers finally face a somewhat competent offense, and now you have worries. Now you have worries?

Do fans need to be patient in what is probably going to take the full length of their contracts to see KS / JL competing for a Super Bowl? Sure. I will grant you that. I agree. But the amount of flip-flopping on this site is other-worldly.

This defense is not good. Don't bring up injuries and don't talk to me about "context" because you sure as hell were not interested in either of those aspects last week. $20 says if the defense has a good game in 9 days you will be right back here saying how you aren't worried about the defense any more, followed, right on cue, saying you're worried about the defense the next time they give up 35+

Never happened.
What did I actually say? I said our only worry this year should be defense because we'll have a bunch of new guys on offense next year.
And yes, I'll get "high and mighty" when people who don't even have a rudimentary understanding of the game crap all over our new HC/GM for no good reason.

In reality it's called objectivity. You should try using it rather than emotion (like some sort of low-T female dog).

Show me where I said anything in that thread negative about KS and or JL?

If this forum would let me search posts instead of threads I would quote it all, but I can't search through 180+ pages. I do remember the sentiment of what was said, and for you to claim you didn't come in citing the Seattle game as proof the defense was on track is patently false.

And I am all for name calling. Kind of like the way you went out last time. Tantrum style...all emotion. The irony in your post is fathoms deep champ

If you need a testosterone boost I suggest lifting weights rather than crying like a woman online.
