Kyle - Kap doesn't fit my scheme (mental)
HaRoman - He's the first one in and last to leave (physical)

Kyle > HaRoman

They went to 3 NFCCG with mediocre QBs and no elite #1 receiver. They could actually adjust to their players and knew how to put them in position to win. Kyle has a ways to go to prove he's on their level honestly.

Yup, don't forget that first year there was a lockout as well. Alex was practicing on the streets with some players that year if my memory serves me correct. The coaches couldn't have contact with players in the offseason.

Harbaugh was the person that helped Alex resurgence during that season. Amazing turnaround, I believe the numbers don't lie.

"Before Harbaugh's arrival, the 49ers were ready to give up on Smith, the first pick of the 2005 draft. It was generally agreed that he was a flop. Google "Alex Smith and bust" and you'll get thousands of hits.

And it was largely the 49ers' fault. They mishandled Smith every step of the way. They couldn't have done a worse job of nurturing a young quarterback if they had tried. They could give a clinic on How to Screw Up a Quarterback. In fact, let's do it for them."

The 2010 and 2011 drafts really keyed that run. Staley was already a great player. Then insert Mike Iupati and Anthony Davis roadgrading holes for Frank Gore and the physical edge that Harbaugh brought to the defense and what transpired was a thing of beauty for three seasons. I can appreciate what Harbaugh gave this organization, but now I'm ready to give Kyle his fair chance.

Dude has a ridiculous football acumen. He has a proven scheme in the NFL that has succeeded long term already. I think if Lynch and his team do their part and give Kyle some players, he will succeed. Time as always will tell.

Smith is no world beater and still playing the same as back then

The resurgence was due to the Defense

The facts say otherwise.. Jake Ruddock, Andrew Luck the list goes on.. Facts are facts

Disclaimer

I wanted Shanny... Just looking at the resume and it's getting longer with Jake Ruddock.. Which was a hot commodity during the preseason and Lions are holding on to him tightly.

You also keep harping on this moral victory b******t.....what was your expectations for a 2-14 team that turned over 2/3rds it's roster. It shouldn't be that high because that would ignore a whole lot of nfl history. Also, it's only been 3 games.....we have no clue what this 2017 team is.

back off. i am not the one who is harping about it.. i am stating a fact. lots of people here have decreed our success is not going to be measured in wins and losses. but in moral victories. you got a problem with the moral victory b******t... go talk to the people who believe that crap

I have witnessed you do this multiple times now.
i am not the one who brought up moral victories, how you interpret things is your deal

i do not think so either. but every time i turn around after a loss. i hear. well its a moral victory. sad. and for the record. sue me people,,,, i am underwhelmed by kyle so far. and i am really really underwhelmed by lynch. if that makes me not very positive. oh well. i did not know that is what one had to be around here. all i know the team is winless. the same issues in pre season keep coming back. i do not buy the deal that refs have cost us games. many decisions have been puzzling to me. here lets cut brooks for eli who is crap but lets not give elvis and lynch any snaps and then we roll out the shock and awe why we could not stop the rams
5. "Have two different head coaches question your quarterback's toughness in the media. Singletary famously called Smith "meek." When Smith was injured, Nolan questioned whether the injury was as bad as his quarterback said it was. Smith injured his right shoulder in the fourth game of the 2007 season. It was diagnosed as a Grade-3 separation that would not require surgery. Smith missed the next three games and then played poorly when he returned for three more games. Smith claimed the injury affected his ability to throw the ball (his quarterback rating was a paltry 57.2) and he completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes); Nolan told reporters he doubted the severity of the injury. A public feud ensued and Smith was clearly wounded after being undermined by his own coach. Another examination revealed that Smith was correct — the shoulder had not healed as doctors expected. Smith underwent surgery and missed the rest of the season. He would also sit out the 2008 season with complications resulting from the same injury. By then, Nolan wasn't questioning his quarterback's injury."

8. "When your quarterback isn't playing well, just yell at him on the sideline in front of a packed stadium and national TV audience to make him play better. After Smith made several bad plays in a game against the Eagles last season, Singletary berated him. The resulting argument became so heated that two 49er players intervened. Singletary nearly pulled Smith out of the game, but the quarterback argued his case and not only remained in the game but played well the rest of the way. Later in the season, Singletary would also get into a sideline screaming match with Troy Smith. This was hardly any way to treat a quarterback, the leader of the team by virtue of his position.

"That's really not part of coaching," observed broadcaster and former coach John Madden.

Singletary was fired with a game left in the season.

Harbaugh has taken the opposite approach of Singletary and Nolan. He has never denigrated Smith in public. Quite to the contrary, he has referred to Smith as an "elite" player and called him worthy of a Pro Bowl selection. Shortly after getting the Niners job, Harbaugh said he wanted Smith to return to the team and was impressed that Smith wanted to return, as well.

"He's a neat guy," Harbaugh told reporters last summer. "I'm really interested in him, in just the character of Alex Smith. He's been maligned by the hometown fans there. And he's really even been thrown under the bus by his own team more than once. And the kind of character of a guy that would want to come back, prove himself with that same football team, that's rare kind of character. (It) probably falls somewhere in the endangered and extinct range. So we can win with that."

Harbaugh, it turns out, was right about that."

🤔

I am confident unlike our previous coaches who treated our Qb with no respect that Shanny will treat his Qb's similar to Harbaugh.

I hope some Alex Smith die hard fans aren't Harbaugh haters? That would be a contradiction if you think about what he did for Alex, the facts.

Question? Alex Smith and Colin Keapernick both had issues with injuries where they felt betrayed by the team. hmmm 🤔

We forgot what dirtbags our previous coaches were to Alex and how Harbaugh had faith in him, respected and built Alex confidence up.

I never did...

Shanny respects his players like Harbaugh did when he was here... "Players coaches".

You're cruising for a timeout, how dare you have any opinion that's negative or even remotely realistic about our team that's currently 0-3 and has very clear problems across the board.
