We used a lot of different formations and play designs under Harbaugh. We didn't make it predominant until the playoffs, so that wasn't why he had initial success.

There were a certain few games it was "predominant". During the 2012 playoffs I would say it was, but outside of that it wasn't full on RO all the time. It was about as "predominant" as Sea, KC, Car, and Buff currently. The RO is still here amongst mobile QBs, but cognitive dissonance makes "old school" guy's literally tell themselves it's not.

It doesn't matter what designs you grab from HaRomans hodge podge playbook...the context from which Kaepernick could operate it was one-read-then-run. At best, he was a very very slow progression reader unlike the players you highlighted adove who all worked hard on their pocket craft. The RO today is just a wrinkle but by a read option design or scramble, Kaepernick was ultra successful with his legs and that was our offense (read-run) until defenses caught up to it.

Yup, defenses pretty much forced him to pass

But anyway, Kyle kicks ass and seems big on evolving, adjusting and adapting...he seems to have learned a lot from that first game (4th downs). We seem way more balanced esp. adapting to our personnel on the inside zone runs and activating Bolden Jr. (5th right now) and with Tomlinson. He seems to be learning more and more about the current offensive personnel. Saleh might have the biggest challenge right now with his non traditional DL esp. with Rueben out .
Baalke screwed the pooch so bad on personnel I don't know who to blame him or Kap. We had something there with Crabtree, Davis and Walker. You got mismatches vs the run or pass.

Baalke's answer. Let Walker walk for a blocking tight end then pair then replace Crabs with an old receiver. Good qb's overcome but Kap deserved better.

If you think Kap was responsible for our downfall then I don't know what to tell you. To me, Kap was as much of a victim as the rest of us.

QB's are never victims 3 years straight. He's just a below average qb who struggles to make simple progressions, inaccurate, and relies too much on his legs. He was always that too. That being said we could of masked his glaring deficiencies with better talent.

I think our Offense needs to help the defense by starting early and don't us behind the eight ball so early. Other teams get to play with house money and take chances which they have been converting. I don't think they play the same when they are behind
Great discussion going on guys!

Its game day tomorrow!

Its game day tomorrow!

You must have missed the memo crabs.

All threads must be infected with talk to tb, kap or views about elected leaders.

Try and keep up man.

That will happen when it's week 4 and you're already playing for draft picks.

Its like the people that feel they HAVE TO chime in when others around them are discussing something theyve given input on it before...

Crabtree didnt want to sign here, and one of the reasons was Kap being the QB. Dude pretty much said so himself.

"I'm an Oakland Raider now. I don't like to touch on that. It's kind of a sensitive topic. ... I don't like to go back to the past," Crabtree said. "I haven't talked to Kap since I left. ... And I hope he get in those books, and watch that film and know what he's doing out there."
