McVay has a ring now

Brooo!! That's EXACTLY what I was saying.. like the ball should have been in deebo and kittles hands every play in the last 2 drives

One has a QB he trusts, the other had Jimmy.

Yup...and it was that QB that was finding Kupp....whereas Jimmy had a hard time hitting WIDE OPEN looks to Aiyuk, Kittle etc throughout the playoffs and season

TBPH I was not impressed with Stafford at all. He played pretty avg except for some short spurts. He's lucky the Bengals offense became anemic after that opening TD pass in the second half…

Shanahan passed on Mahomes, Watson and Brady.

The front office has failed to bring in a top QB. Been saying this ever since they started Brian Hoyer year 1, traded up and drafted CJ Beat Hard, brought in and overpaid Jimmy G who was a backup on another team who himself started only 4 games for Brady?, and now spent three first round picks on a raw project who may or may not pan out. This is the fault of Shanahan..Lynch flat out said "I always defer the QB decision to Shanahan". It's time for fans to stop being so nice to this FO. 3 out of 5 years, we didn't make the playoffs. We BARELY made playoffs this year even with 7 team format change. I am a fan and this why I am calling out Shanahan and Lynch on their Quarterback decision making. We will see about Lance this coming year. I will off any criticism until I see it on the field.

Doesn't matter. Rams won when it mattered in the NFCCG. Coaching was a huge part of it. His decision to not go for it on 4th and 2 was costly. All advanced statistics and models said he should've gone for it. Maybe it's a reach to say McVay owns him but he definitely is the more successful HC. He may not scheme an offense as well as KS but he seems to be a lot better at situational play calling.

Cool. I look forward to you keeping the same energy when Kyle is slapping around McVay for years to come.

You talk about "slapping him around" as if that's definitely going to happen, lol. Right now is not the time to be talking about Shanahan slapping McVay around. We need to focus on developing our young QB and crafting an offense that supports him. I have a lot of faith in KS being able to win a SB with the 49ers but lets not try to ignore the fact that KS has been an OC/HC for 3 teams that have blown some of the largest playoff leads in NFL history.

Both were smart enough to realize they could not get it done with the quarterback they had. McVay and the lambs are only 1 year ahead of us in that regard, but starting next year, the lambs will be getting worse each year due to cap/draft situations. Meanwhile, our Niners will be getting better each year under much better quarterback play.

You're right the Rams will get worse but it doesn't matter...they went all in and they won. Maybe the 49ers should've found a way to get Stafford.
One thing McVay has on Shanny is he's quicker to wine and dine vet QBs in Cabo. Makes you wonder how things would have turned out if we had landed Stafford instead.

LOL, well I don't know about that rumor...but if we had Stafford instead of Jimmy G I think it's safe to say we would've been SB favorites.

I lost complete faith in Shanahan in Lance's first start in Arizona. I felt he purposely put Lance under the bus, using him as fullback carrying close 20 times and getting him injured, going on it multiple times on 4th down and failing instead of kicking field goals easing Trey into the game.

Honestly. All respect to your post.

But passing on Brady because of his age was always going to be the excuse or the reason, but IMO, I would rather go wrong trying to win with a 40+ year old 2ND BEST QB EVER than a QB who I'm not ALL IN.

If KS10 is as smart as everyone says he is, then he would have thought of having TB12 would make his coaching life easier because he no longer have to call a perfect game the way many believe he has to w/Grappy at QB...

And this is just MY OPINION.... the problem w/KS10 is though he wants to win, but he wants to win and make sure he gets 70% of the credit...

I dunno... I'm of the opinion that if ego really was a factor (and yes, people are human, so it usually DOES play a part... how much it plays, that's another question), Shanahan would've brought in Brady or Stafford and enjoyed both the success and huge statistical numbers that we all assume Brady/Stafford would put up in this offense. Shanahan gets huge credit for helping a great Matt Ryan become an MVP-caliber QB when he was in Atlanta.

To me, in my eyes. it's not really a question of ego, but passing on Brady and Stafford has always been a matter of the organization trying to balance winning now and winning tomorrow. And that's pretty much been the organization's MO since we escaped salary cap hell and Paraag Marathe started managing the cap. It's something that York specifically wanted when they hired our current regime.

But yeah... In the past few years, the Seahawks tried to stack the deck by trading for Jamal Adams---I thought that was a poor move because I feel they should've built a stronger o-line for Russell Wilson. And in the past few years, the Rams have been stacking veteran talent and made the blockbuster trade for Stafford. Meanwhile, the 49ers' big move was to trade up and draft Trey Lance. IMO, the move is pretty much going to make or break the opinion of whether we can win a Super Bowl with Shanahan and Lynch. We'll see how it unfolds in 2022 and the next few years.

Allow me to already tell you what to expect...

IF Lance ends up being as good as Herbert or Josh Allen or even Mahomes then I'll expect all KS10's supporters to say WE TOLD YO U SO!!..

IF Lance ends up being similar to a young McNabb or Free Crab Winston then I'll expect all KS10's supporters to say ONLY IF WE HAD A QB DOESN'T THROW DUCKS .

You have no faith in Shanahan even tho he coached this team to the NFCC this year?.......okaaay.

I couldn't give a rat's ass about nfcc, 1st rd, 3rd rd. Whatever. All that matters is the SB. If you're a fan and are happy with that sh*t then sure whatever. I'm not telling you how you should cheer but for me, I want SB's. None of the other participation trophy matters to me.

No, its still an absolutely stupid talking point.

Only one team wins a SB in a year and the only team that has been a consistent SB team over the past 20 years had the best QB of all time and possibly the best HC of all time.

You keep getting into the playoffs, keep winning road playoff games and eventually something good is bound to happen. To win in this league you need a combination of talent, good coaching and a whole lot of luck along the way when it comes to injuries and getting some lucky bounces.

So far the 49ers have been into two conferences championship games and a SB in 3 years. If Lance is who Shanahan and Lynch believe he can be, then the best is yet to come.
