Not a big game coach. If you are up in big games he routinely finds ways to lose.
Facts are facts guys.
Interesting facts you have there
Those are facts.
Kyle Shanahan's team lost in those games. Those are facts.
Saying Kyle Shanahan chocked in those games is a stupid opinion.
Learn the difference.
Eh... I'm an ardent Shanahan supporter, but we can't just dismiss those losses because of "it's a team game". He shoulders some of the responsibility (and he admits to it in his press conferences).
As OC for the Falcons, as HC for us... he makes wide-scale decisions that yes... the players have to execute... but he's the one that ultimately decides to go for it , or not go for it. He's the one that says, let's run vs. let's pass.
Of course he's not blameless but it's absolutely idiotic to act like Shanahan choked those games all on his own.
Atlanta blew a friggin 28-3 lead in the 3rd quarter and the OC gets the blame? Where is the consistency? Does Saleh get the blame for the 3rd and 18 call in our SB loss? Does Kyle get the blame for the defense giving up 21 points in 7 minutes?
We all saw the film of the game...there were a ton of plays out there that were missed. Whether it was the throw to Sanders, whether it was a bunch of other open looks where Jimmy wasn't able to make the right read or Chris Jones knocked the ball down, or where the refs looked the other way whether it was hits on Garoppolo or lack of holding calls.
Did Shanahan tell Tartt to drop the pick? Did he have Jimmy miss throws, reads or have OLmen miss blocks?
To me Sean McVay choked in his first SB trip. They were the #2 offense in the NFL that year. They came in playing the Pats who were 7th in the NFL in points allowed but 21st in the NFL in yards allowed(not exactly a juggernaut of an offense) they scored 3 points and it was clear as day McVay got completely outcoached.
Our losses there were some questionable playcalls, in the NFCCG you can question the decision to punt on 4th and 2 but Jimmy was hurt and not playing great, our running game was just stuffed 2 runs in a row and we coulnd't pick up 1 yard. But Tartt drops the pick and then Ward misses his coverage and gets an additional 15 yards added on and we're saying Kyle choked? Nah...
