Nice find. This topic was being discussed the other week in the "Will the offense be different with Lance" thread. The article you linked even showed a very similar play that was shown in the "Will offense be different..." thread with GB showing a bear front with two OLB aligned wide. Then also the GB running play showing how a quick run in between the tackles is a good way to attack two high safeties - a defensive shift that is happening in the league.

That offensive coaching tree has split and will evolve in different ways, each coach tailoring to his team's strengths. Fun read.

Yeah I really enjoy reading stuff like this. Gives you some context and it's gonna be interesting to see how all these guys evolve.

And that's really what this next phase of the scheme wars for the wide zone coaches comes down to: how the different branches of this tree will deal with that second safety. McVay found a passer with the arm strength and playmaking creativity to exploit the two-high coverages taking the league by storm. Shanahan has assembled a rushing attack that forces defenses to get into one-high looks.
------

And that right there is a big difference between the 49ers and Rams offense coming into 2022. The thing is, Stafford will never be a factor in the run game whereas Lance already is. Lance will hopefully develop into a dynamic passer over time giving the 49ers the best of both worlds.

A lot of people poo pooed on staff in here. Talent has always been undeniable. That article had some good tidbits on why Lance was the pick and what we might see in the future.

All he needs is and elite MVP QB and a lead in the 4Q and it's game over...for him.

I think he will take a QB that actually takes advantage of the plays that are there.

You mean like Matt Ryan?

Yup and if his D didn't give up 600 yards, Julian Edelman didn't make one of the craziest catches in SB history, Matthews didn't get a holding call, Freeman doesn't whiff on a blitz pickup, they win the coin toss or Ryan throws the ball away instead of taking a sack...he probably get a SB win as an OC. Football is a crazy sport lol.
Oh my hell PFF done gone and lost their f**king minds. Whatever the hell kind of analytics they're using I don't care, Kellen Moore and Byron Leftwich are not better offensive coaches than Shanahan that's some damn hot garbage.
kellen moore and leftwich ahead of kyle lol

But I thought everything comes down to an elite QB (+ luck)?

This is so confusing!

It's so much easier to just blame the QB for everything.

Nah easier to blame the RG. Clearly it has a bigger impact than subpar Qb play.

Joe Gibbs = 3 Super Bowls with 3 good QBs

Shanny could've won sbs with lesser qbs 40 years ago too. How'd Joe do in the era where you needed top qb play when he didn't have one?

he didn't do well.. but it wasn't because of his coaching..

and again, KS10 had a chance to have TB but chose to stick w/Grappy... who's fault is that?

Your fault, since you can't answer how the 49ers we're going to sign TB
