he was horrible vs the rams.... blame the players.. blame jimmy.. but the delay of game penalty on 4th and 2 was on kyle and horrid.. i also recall when the game was tied... what did we do.. go away from the run and then have a delay of game.... stuff like that is on kyle and had nothing to do with the players or tartts dropped pick.. i am just saying. for the third time...... i hope he has learned if we ever get in those spots again.
the film is there.. the rams lined up an avg of 8 in the box to take away the run. so we passed. the throws weren't made.
The Rams gameplan was to take away the run and it worked. Kyle can only do so much
Now ask yourself this. How many times did we succeed against and how many times did we face an 8 man box in 2019?
i don't have the numbers in front of me. but it wasn't every play and when they did jimmy made the throws as he was a 3rd down conversion machine
jimmy 2019 >>> jimmy 2021
I don't disagree with that.
I would also say.
Run blocking 2019 >>> run blocking 2021
i mean, we took the league by storm by running more than the usual team. we were also running very well designed plays that the league wasn't prepared for. (made luke kuechly retire
)
it also helped to face two playoff teams that weren't major run stoppers in Minn, GB given up 4.3 and 4.7 respectively for the season. 49ers 2021 avg per rush was 4.3, compared to 4.6 in 2019.
i feel they were even probably better in 2021, just injuries late in the season handicapped us, but didn't lose the last game for us
