Webzone has had a lot of weird eras and points of obsession/hatred/etc...but the constant jock licking of shanahan is the worst era yet.

Can't blame the playcalling when the players don't execute.
Players failing to execute is also the HC's fault.
If that's your reasoning, no HC should ever be fired.

If he has a good game plan but can't get the players to execute then he's just an OC. Not matter how its sliced, shanny is responsible for this mess.
Or the talent is lacking.
A bit of both right now. QB and OL are really weak in the passing game. Wont win too many games if thats the case.
Six years as head coach and we still have a question mark at QB. It's not like he's not had plenty of opportunities to get himself one either with all those draft picks. Lance could be that guy, but I think he'll most likely be a middle of the pack type of QB when it's all said and done Imo

-Can´t win close games.
-Keeps repeating the same mistakes over and over.
-Passing game is garbage.
Rex Ryan had a winning percentage of .480 in his 6th season when he was fired.
Shanahan has a winning percentage of .480 now in his 6th season.
Andy Reid is an offensive genius and his offense always is better than his defense and he identified Mahomes.
Sean McVay is an offensive genius and his offense always is better than his defense and he got Stafford.
Sean Payton is an offensive genius and his offense always was better than his defense and he got Brees.
Shanahan is an offensive genius but he always relies on the defense and he still can´t fix the QB position.
Facts and I don´t care what his fanboys are gonna say to excuse him.
Pretty true. I would probably say that there were instances when passing game wasnt utter garbage, but thats about the only nitpick I have.

And back to the Chip Kelly/Tomsula eras? No thanks.

I called him shanaloser when he was hired. 6 years later I look like nostradamus
Sure, if Nostradamus was famous for being wrong about his predictions. You called him a loser 6 years ago, and he proceeded to coach the team to 2 NFCCGs and a SB. All with a backup QB.
Lost superbowl and nfc championship. Blows 10 point 4th quarter leads. Loser.
Hey everyone, look at Nostradamus here! Same guy who said Jimmy G was one of the best QBs in the league! Thinks that making the playoffs and running deep into them is bad! Everyone gather around, pat him on the back and tell him how smart he is!

Can I also remind people that Denver's head coach had to hire another assistant head coach yesterday to help him with "in-game decisions".
Shanahan lost to this guy. And his team put up 10 points after a dominant defensive performance.
No one talks about how shanahan's greatest success as a HC are tied to the QB everyone hates and a defense he has nothing to do with.

Sad but true
Offenses and defenses are too different to make this comparison, IMO.
Defense is about harnessing talent and pointing it in the right direction. Goal of a defense is to create chao and disruption, and to be opportunistic.
Offenses are about rhythm, timing, precision. It's an orchestra. And it needs a top end conductor (QB) to truly bring all the instruments into harmony consistently enough to win year in and year out. Sometimes a team can get by with the community theater orchestra because their defense is so good, but it's rare.
Long winded excuse. Shanahan is a crap head coach and nothing more than a schemer who doesn't even adapt that scheme to maximize talent.
The only adaptations he does make are ones that get his starting QB killed (and his career in the process).
Remember when he called a shotgun delay with jimmy g after he snapped Lance's ankle? Pepperidge Farms remembers.
You are welcome to your opinion. Just don't come complain to me when the next HC sucks much more than Shanahan, because odds are he will.

I'm sorry but that makes absolutely zero sense. How does that make him just "an OC"? Is he supposed to go in there every single play and tell his QB "Hey don't throw a pick here ok?" You might have a point if we just played undisciplined with lots of penalties, but that is not the case. The players did not execute and got outplayed, period. Nothing a head coach can do about that in the moment, nor can a coach make up for a QB that is clearly limited and mistake prone.
No, but it is his inept.play caing that got the team behind the 8 ball and in position to have to rely on a QB who is historically unreliable. He can't get.out of his own damn way. This is the best defense in the league but Shanny runs the worst offense.

Honestly, 2019 was a special year with a disappointing ending..
2021 seemed more like a fluke with everything that was happening..
Some good and not so good times with Kyle as head coach..
Let's see how he responds to adversity.

At some point Shanahan has to take the blame for why the team keeps losing these games that we should have won. Its the same old story. The D plays great, but the offense is so useless that they're on the field all day and end up blowing the lead at the end because the offense couldn't extend the lead. It just keeps happening over and over.
