Shanny actively gave them the ball back with a minute left, down only six points, in a game where the secondary was getting beat, the pass rush wasn't getting home, and the refs were unkind....

I couldn't have been the only one shocked the game was still in reach after the 49ers fourth down stop and was waiting for a herbert 60 yard bomb that drew a PI to give the chargers the ball in scoring distance with time on the clock.

Did you miss the part where the Chargers, DIDN'T score on the final two possessions (and the entire second half for that matter)? They didn't even make it past mid-field on those last two drives and got picked off in the end.

I get it, I would've liked the 49ers to be more aggressive in punching it in to score the ball, but the defense didn't have much issue with the Chargers after the opening drive.

That's a Mike Nolan loser mentality way to win. Constantly deferring to your defense without more than a single score lead is horse s**t. Anything can happen. The chargers scored on that first drive in a blink. And that doesn't work against good teams; he was lucky it did this time.

And at the end of the day, we won. I don't care how pretty or ugly it was. The Chargers are a good team that will be contending for a playoff spot. We've won a lot of games this way under the Shanahan regime and there's no shame in trusting the #1 defense in the league, especially after we dominated Time of Possession, holding the ball for 37 minutes. A fresh defense with the pass rush we have should close that game out more often than not.
Serious question, is there anyone who gets less out of supreme talent than Shanahan? An offense with Kittle, Deebo, Aiyuk and McCaffery and Elijah Mitchell is our most productive player.

Mitchell is a very good back in his right. But yes, you are mainly right. Kittle trips me out the most. We actually use the other guys you mentioned.

The clueless malcontents don't understand the simple fact why AB got the most look and catches and Jennings did well also because the double teams and players being key on by the opponent's D were Deebo and Kittle as well as CMC.. is it really that hard to understand? 🤣

The only other way I see there can be some improvements or adjustments is to run run run then trick play to deebo or kittle to get them open untraditionally and KS did try that but to limited success as the chargers were well prepared to just key in specifically on deebo kittle and CMC, chargers were 5-3 for a reason even if they got injuries to some starters, still a well coached team at 5-3.

it's legitimately the worst offensive system I watched all day. Least creative. Least able to score quickly. Least lethal.

CMC out in the last goal-line situation.
No creativity to use CMC/Deebo/Mitchell at the same time.
3 runs up to the middle when the Chargers knew he was going to run.
CMC and Mitchell healthy but no play-action.
At the end the defense had to step up twice because the O couldn´t put the game away

This offense is a Ferrari and Shanahan is the brakes. Change my mind.

If Kyle's gameplan would have been sound we'd have put up more points and not let the most injury-riddled team in the league have a shot to win on their last drive.

It looked conservative to you because that's not how you would game plan for them. I think Shanahan game planned for the Chargers to play keep away from Justin Herbert and it worked.

In general, that's the kind of complementary football that helps a defense---run the ball, control the clock, and that keeps the defense fresh to get after opposing QB's. We held the ball for about 37 minutes against the Chargers.

And then, the Chargers were specifically missing players on their defensive line. It makes perfect sense to run the ball down the middle, hence why we had so many inside zone plays. We were absolutely gashing them in the second half. Why risk throwing the ball when you can just run it down their throats, and wear them down? Sure, the Chargers had two possessions at the end of the game, but they never seriously threatened us with their offense at all in the second half.

It was actually a pretty interest X's and O's game. The Chargers knew we wanted to run the ball on them, so they put out 5-man and 6-man defensive lines... prompting us to pass, but then they would jump back into zone looks... so it was still a bit of a chess match. I think it was a good indicator of how we can expect future opponents to play us. I believe the Rams played a similar gameplan.

If we would have left Mitchell in late in the game instead of CMC, we could have sealed the victory much sooner. I love CMC and he did have a few good runs but he had 14 attempts for 38 yards in the game. Mitchell had a much better game and should have been the go to RB in that situation.

Can you point out what he did to make you say that? What play calls were bad and what would you change? Complaining just to complain. Got the W and we're upset 🙃

What was wrong with the game plan? Ran the ball well vs a team that sucks at defending the run. How about we wait and see the film of the plays before we think we know what's what?

I'm sorry but Kyle holds this team back just as much as Jimmy. There was a reason we were 7.5 point favorites against a Chargers team that came into our house decimated with injuries on both sides of the ball. And we barely eeked out a win by basically resorting to peewee football and giving the ball to our RBs to just run it down their throat.

Kyle is a liability at this point, and I don't even think he will do Trey any favors when he's back next season. We need to find a real coach that can lead this team. Not a hard headed offensive coordinator who plays not to lose and hold this team back

The absurdity that Kyle Shanahan can actually be given credit for anything that happened in this game is laughable.

He has one game plan: run the ball 500 times and only throw the same crossing route to Aiyuk.

It should have failed... the chargers easily should have won this game if not for a few dropped passes and the niners shooting themselves in the foot.

Just stop. Any decent coach with two weeks to prepare would have had this over and done, handily.

Lol you act like there aren't other routes being run and the QB isn't allowed to read anything else. Talk about complaining about nothing. What the f**k do you expect with a game manager QB? Should have had another TD if BA didn't drop it.

This fan base is so annoying sometimes
