49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

I'm sorry but Kyle holds this team back just as much as Jimmy. There was a reason we were 7.5 point favorites against a Chargers team that came into our house decimated with injuries on both sides of the ball. And we barely eeked out a win by basically resorting to peewee football and giving the ball to our RBs to just run it down their throat.

Kyle is a liability at this point, and I don't even think he will do Trey any favors when he's back next season. We need to find a real coach that can lead this team. Not a hard headed offensive coordinator who plays not to lose and hold this team back

So what BA dropping an easy TD is on kyle? Gould missing an extra pt is on Kyle? That's 27 pts total same s**t the great Reid and Mahomes put up vs the s**tty Jags yesterday.

I have no idea what you're expecting with a game manager QB who's best ability is throwing in breaking routes.

If we lost and didn't run the ball as much as we did vs the 29th ranked run D ya'll be having a hissy fit.

LAC top 10 pass D this yr….let's get mad he didn't throw the ball more lol

Good hard fought win. But I was frustrated with Shanahan's play calling at the end. Why didn't he gash the Chargers with a play action pass when they were desperately loading the box to stop the run at the end? He is too predictable at times. The running game was starting to do well, but it was obvious that the Chargers were fully selling out to stop our run. Play action would have gashed them there.

Because he's a stubborn, petulant, overrated, figured-out hack.

This team should be competing for a super bowl and he has them losing games to the bears, falcons, and Broncos and eeking out a win against the second string chargers

harsh, but hes been figured out yea....struggling to switch tempo between pass + run where each play is called like a winner .... not a set up to something later...

Where was the hurry up after they started losing DLinemen?? He's too focused on being a cute play caller instead of being a head coach.

I thought we did this a couple of times. Third and short, a couple of times. I was surprised too but I'm glad that kyle adjusted his syle to our benefit. Good. More.

Of course you're defending Kyle after that game

after a Bye week
Against 3rd stringers
At home
Against a mediocre opponent

If there was a game where the niners should have dominated offensively, it was this one. And Shanahan comes out with no imagination, flat, and boring. The defense gives the offense the ball on the 6 yard line and the game should be over. Only Kyle would give them the ball back with a chance to win in that situation.

It's not about the number of throws, it's about catching the other team wrong footed. We didn't do that enough to seperate from San Diego (Ima gonna call them San Diego just cuz.) Like deebs and mccafrey getting stuffed a lot because we tell when we hand the ball to them. Kyle not thinking change up enough. Play fake, decoys, fast developing jets to peripheral players like ray ray.

The most effective player, besides jimmy, was mitchell. Cuz san diego didn't put mitchell on their radar.

Against an elite QB who was another week healthier and a top 10 passing D? He did want we all wanted him to do…run the f**king football vs one of the worst run D's in the league.

cry me a River they didn't score 40 pts. I wouldn't expect you to saying anything different. Same s**t if SF wins and Jimmy plays like butt…you'd be crying about people not supporting him or saying "all he does is win" hypocrite

I mean I saw RPOs and motions all the same. We saw some bootlegs. IMO Jimmy isn't very good under center running play-action. He's better out of the gun and that does limit the play book and the effectiveness of play action overall.

We all said run the damn ball vs a team that stinks defending it. That LAC pass D doesn't stink, so grind it out on the ground. Clearly that was the game plan and if we didn't do that and lost there would be some pissed off fans (rightfully so). My only real issue this yr overall has been in the RZ, which is weird because they were so good there last yr.

So did Kyle lol? Yet here is Jose…

He needs to let go and just let these guys play. It is very hard to win a SB while trying to hide your QB. Even Foles and Flacco had to be trusted to play at a high level to get their rings. Jimmy is either going to go on a run or we're not going to win a SB.

We have too many weapons for this playing scared s**t. Grow some balls. Being aggressive doesn't always work, but playing scared never does.
Kyle the playcaller has definitely fallen off without Mike McDaniel.

My far bigger concerns are Kyle the HC. But nobody wants to acknowledge those issues and those are the ones that really cost games, IMHO.

I totally disagree with all of this.

Of course you do. It's Monday morning interference.

Of course you would think McDainels is the mastermind and Kyle the HC is a concern

Did you watch Atlanta vs our 3rd string defense ? They put us out of our misery before we could even think twice. Well coached teams know how to game plan, irrespective of how talented the roster is. Kyle Shanahan, with arguably the most loaded (talent wise) offense in the league had to wait until the last second before he could call victory.

that is what you call a poorly coached team. It's laughable you don't see that…
