Your premise is correct. No denying that. The fact we only called 7 run plays in 1st half is more than enough evidence to show the game was called differently than last week.

No question. Like DL has pointed out all year, pass to set up the run has been the stronger formula this year. That's because 4 of the 5 OL are much better in PP. It's now a strength even with MM doing his thing.

Crazy what happens when the players actually execute the play call….I'm shocked

Would it be too much to ask for you to call every game like this, Kyle?

He does for the most part. It's just beautiful when the players actually execute it.

Yeah... I would say today though, we had like... what, 20 passes and 7 runs in the first half?

It feels like... the Cardinals weren't very aggressive on defense, and I assume that was in large part due to CMC. Blitzing is dangerous, because the outlet receiver is likely CMC or Deebo. They need guys back in soft zone coverage, where they can make tackles. But Jimmy showed tonight that he will eat that up, especially if the o-line only has to deal with a 4 man rush.

I predict that this offense is going to just get better and better as Shanahan gets more of a feel for how defenses are going to play, and the offense gets in rhythm and gains more confidence.

Not sure why this is so hard to see esp. after last week.

Much easier to execute a pass now than a run. Play to the strengths. Although the run isn't horrible either esp. when you soften them up with the pass.

This is the game plan we were expecting coming out of the bye-week.

Good job media calling Kyle out on being conservative. I told you it'd be more pass centric this week. Never fails.

Hope he sticks with it!

The run blocking has to be executed absolutely perfect to average 1 explosive (20+ yards) a game. Much easier with the pass. Balance.

I think it depends on who you're playing and how they're playing you…you heard the broadcast, AZ was doing whatever they could to make Jimmy beat them…not the run. Jimmy and the all-stars around him did their thing.

overall great game…Players executed, good playing calling and good QB play.

Once teams have to worry about JGs passing and stop stacking the box, our run game will benefit greatly. This game will help that.

Different team with different personnel last week. IMO People need to understand the nuances of defenses and what they're showing to then have a strong opinion on what should or shouldn't be called on offense.

We have the weapons to dictate now. Not be dictated.

I get what you're saying though.

Super stoked. It was great all around after a tad shaky start with the cute stuff and predictable run on first down. Then, boom!

Play calling and game planning is based on opponents strengths and weaknesses. The chargers have one of the worste run defenses in the league. JD showed it was execution that was the reason why the run game was slow to get going last week. The film also showed we would have won by even more than we did if it wasn't for a dropped TD and a fumble lost. No surprise that the run game didn't really get going again this week until we finally put Mitchell in there like last week.

SF can game plan vs anyone now. We don't have to have an all-pro QB as long as he's managing the offense and not turning the ball over. So far so good.

Nah. Has little to do with Jimmy. Defenses don't defend Jimmy. They have to defend all our receiving weapons. And no team is equipped to do that. Look how our defense struggled covering their one weapon...Hopkins. We've got 7 of those kinds of players, all mismatches. Just gotta keep dialing them up, pass protecting well and Jimmy will find one.

The run blocking magically gets better too after that.

Tried and true old school WCO formula.

We are 4-0 in our division and have scored a combined 120 points and have only given up 40 in those games. Straight up dominance.

It's beautiful!

While again your premise is correct. It HAS NEVER been to this extent as it was the last two weeks
