49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

Doing a solid imo. I just worry about the defense.

true.. hoyer is his hand picked boy. he would have to swallow some pride to admit he was wrong and to have the kid play at some point during the season.

Hand picked Make it sound like he picked him over every guy in the league. Well, apparently Beathard was the only QB he wanted in the entire draft and traded up to get him. Beathard is more of a handpicked guy then Hoyer.

I would say KS targeted him as his QB considering he was signed on the first day of F/A.

How could he possibly take him over these all stars:

Glennon
Geno Smith
Kap
Ryan Fitzpatrick
RGIII
Osweiler
Cutler

You guys guys act like he took him over Brady or Rodgers. With that cast of QBs I think he was pretty f**king wise to put a premium on system familiarity even if it means having the guy in the room with a rookie QBs to help learn the system.

Wishing him to be a good play caller does not make him a good play caller.... he's been in horrific slump since he blew the Super Bowl. It could be though that it's not really a slump, just who he is.

it's ok that you don't understand how football works, it really is. But stop trying act like you have this profound knowledge. His track record shows he's a fabulous play caller and even this year's film shows play after play of guys running wide open. Those my friend are good play calls, every coach aspires to have guys run free. When the talent on roster matches his playcalls the offense will improve. That's real football. So Sus, keep up your little game it really is laughable.

The response was if KS hand picked Hoyer and it's clear he did. Could he have hand picked someone else? Before you respond with the same QB's on your list remember in the NFL you aren't simply limited to just F/A in order to shore up your roster. This said a few of those QB's in hindsight have had better and more productive moments in their career than Hoyer ever has.

ahh so cryptic

won't you stop the games and list these QBs
Best offensive football mind the 49ers have had since Walsh (or perhaps since his father). The problem is this roster has holes in all the wrong places. In spite of the weak roster KS has consistently put the team in positions to win. Don't give a s*** if he is the head coach, if his players are inept there is only so much he can do about that. If you want to say "the buck stops here " with KS then so be it, he still deserves to serve out his contract and the record in year one means nothing. Hoyer has missed wide open receivers and when the throws have been good there are too many drops. We lack a franchise QB, a #1 WR (nothing against Garcon, he's been Aces for us), a premiere pass rusher (or more), and a shutdown corner. It's rare that you have all four of those, but you at least need the FQB and the premier pass rusher. Point being Shanahan "gets a pass" until we find and develop those pieces. He will do what one came close to doing and many have failed to do before him.
Reposting this so more people see it.

EJ Manuel, Landry Jones, Nick Foles, AJ McCarron, Trevor Siemian, Jacoby Brisette even Cousins and Garappolo were reported to be available for the right price. The draft had 3 first round QB's we passed over two of which are already starting. We deliberately went with Hoyer and Barkley.
