just saying.. mooch was only worried about the players and media liking him and then when he tried to come down hard on owens he looked like a fool which was then followed by him crawling into a fetal position vs tampa. some people may think things are just fine and dandy as the losses mount up but the players worry about that stuff. i think we are starting to see the cracks in regards of disgruntled players in bowman and hyde.... now i am fine with shipping them off .. but the point is how will the coach respond to the first sign of negativity in the locker room.. i know a few do not even want to ponder such a possibility but heck i ignored the reports of problems with jh and trent back in the day cuz i did not want to hear it. there is a possibility it will happen and how he will handle it. how will the team respond to his handling of it will be interesting. just speculation but if things continue to "progress" i think it can not be ruled out. love george but he did a terrible job managing the haley thing, jh was very good in that regard i think with people like that idiot running back we signed from the giants

always want to know in these types of matters. if mike is talking to him about the team and players behind the scenes. i would have loved to have mike officially involved in the team when they hired the son

Glennon
Geno Smith

Ryan Fitzpatrick
RGIII

You guys guys act like he took him over Brady or Rodgers. With that cast of QBs I think he was pretty f**king wise to put a premier on system familiarity even if it means having the guy in the room with a rookie QBs to help learn the system.

+1
The response was if KS hand picked Hoyer and it's clear he did. Could he have hand picked someone else? Before you respond with the same QB's on your list remember in the NFL you aren't simply limited to just F/A in order to shore up your roster. This said a few of those QB's in hindsight have had better and more productive moments in their career than Hoyer ever has.
ahh so cryptic

won't you stop the games and list these QBs
EJ Manuel, Landry Jones, Nick Foles, AJ McCarron, Trevor Siemian, Jacoby Brisette even Cousins and Garappolo were reported to be available for the right price. The draft had 3 first round QB's we passed over two of which are already starting. We deliberately went with Hoyer and Barkley.
EJ Manuel ! has never put up the numbers close to Hoyer has and is no where near a fit for the scheme
Landry Jones ! lol really ?
Nick Foles ? maybe but he's just another Barkley
AJ ? uh No because he's under contract
Trevor Siemian, no way and he's under contract
Brisset, no way and he's under contract
Cousins, Snyder doesn't want KS to have him
Garappolo, has only played 5 qtrs and Pats want 2 first rounders please

none of your options were either not available or definitely not worth it

So much this!! and thanks for saving me the time I was just gonna post something similar. If Garappollo was available for maybe a 2nd and a 3rd no doubt I would've expected Lynch and Shanahan to pick him up. After all Shanahan liked Garappollo coming outta college, so maybe Shanahan would've picked up him and Hoyer. Like Niners816 said, it was system familiarity that played a big part in signing Hoyer.
yeah, Hoyer had 4 factors :

played in the system before
Doesn't mind being a back up if he can't perform
Cheap
We are not stuck with him as say signing a bigger name bust

Ability to play well in Shanahan's system would be a nice 5th factor.

No doubt at all!! But for now at least he's serviceable, not Gabbert'able!!!

Yes and he can be a good backup if CJ isn't ready fort that role after the team gets their FQBotF.

i understand this. but i would also be ok if the team cut him loose and looked at some other options next year behind our new true starter and cj
lol, i guess Jay G as been reading the WZ

''They're four plays away from being 4-1,'' Gruden told his players.

Was better for Kyle to not have Pops on his staff or working with the team in any official capacity. If Kyle finds great success as the HC here and Pops is in the fold, some especially here on the WZ will take credit away from Kyle and hand it to Mike.

I do think Kyle should take a page from Jay Gruden and nudge a few of our players to put in work with his dad in the the offseason. Jon Gruden has worked with Kirk and some of the Skins WR's the past couple of offseasons.

got it. makes sense. i guess it goes back to the time frame after jh left when i was hoping dad would get hired and he would bring kyle along to groom him. maybe that was all just rumor control

That's too bad, I'm still waiting for one from one of the detractors.

Was thinking the same, i think kyle tries to hard to be young and cool with these guys. He needs to be a leader of men.

Yeah they need an authoritative figure, not another homie.

These homers who think Harbaugh was better than Tomsula or Kelly are whack.
