49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

3 NFCCGs in 4 years. That's a Harbaugh!
very nice using christian properly the 2nd half, then rotating with elijah on the final drive

offense was average the 1st half, very good in the 2nd

defense was mostly outstanding, could even have gotten 2 more picks

Dallas did a tremendous job on defense today. But the Kyle haters won't tip their hat to that effort.

Possibly Kyle's worst called game since he's been here

lol

Honestly it wasn't good. But these are the type of games that you need to win ugly. Cowboys struggled too. This was just an old school defensive game and Kyle came out on top when it mattered.

That's my coach! f**k the trolls!

How was it not good? I guess you could say he was a bit conservative, but it seems like he understood the type of game we were in and the type of defense we were going against.

First half was pretty bad, got cute too many times and that clock management at the end was very confusing.

But ya, this was a physical, defensive game and he out coached the cowboys in the 2nd half, especially 4th.

Love Kyle, but he wasn't without blame this game. In the end we won and he showed great adjustments in the 4ty and showed why he's a top coach in this League

It was conservative today because the Cowboys defense is good and their athletic linebackers match up well with what we like to do on offense. They were a very dangerous matchup. I'm not surprised that Shanahan wanted to shield his young QB from anything risky.

I wondered if Shanahan would open things up more, but they ran the ball much better in the second half, and to the offense's credit, they executed much better in the second half.

In the end, the difference between the two teams was that Dak Prescott threw 2 INT's, with one of them in the redzone, while Brock Purdy did not.

100%.

This is playoff football with a rook @ QB.

I mean let's keep some perspective here.

Kyle gives his hat away after the game.

The clock management was intentional, albeit very awkward.
They weren't trying to score a TD. They were trying to run all the time off the clock, so Dallas wouldn't have an opportunity to possess, and kick a field goal at the end of the half.

And that's exactly how it unfolded. Conservative? Yup. Did it feel awkward? Yup. But the alternative is that they try to manage things differently and, worst case scenario, try to score a TD & fail...punt the ball, and then Dallas has a possession at the end of the half and then get the ball in the second half.

I hated the entire series, but in all likelihood, it helped win the game

nah. it didn't help s**t. We looked unprepared many times. That was one. Not our best game at all.

It didn't? They got 3 points and made dallas go into half with 2 unused TOs.

It was a genius decision, and i said it before it ended in points.
You make THEM use THEIR TO. Or give them the ball with no TD opportunity.
