I agree with this. I thought Kyle was a little cautious In the first half, but came through strong In the end.

It didn't help that the O-line got mauled through those first 2Q of the game.

Overall, It was a HUGE win against a team that gave everything they had.

He seems to flipflop a bit. We have discussed. It seems when he cuts the strings a bit good things happen. If something went wrong he went right back to it and error corrected or overcome. I prefer cut throat Kyle over not to lose Kyle.
Kyle hasn't won the big one. He may never win the final game.

But, he beats the Cowboys. Like a drum. Plus, he makes that proud franchise look foolish in the process.

If that is all I ever get? I'm fine with that. Just fine.

Cowboys haven't been relevant in 30 years. I want a Super bowl..

Same, I don't want a head coach who was never good enough to win it all. If Kyle wins it, it's his time to get the monkey off his back. I think it would loosen him up some too. Lol

Agreed.

C'mon on, Kyle. Let's get that super bowl.

Kept running behind McGlinchey and Brunskill and going nowhere.

Needed some slants, hooks, hitches and a screen to McCaffrey being that the Cowboy D- line was abusing the O- line.

Um hmm. You don't get a sense there's culture in the film room that scolds players for going off schedule?

At least publicly, KS has commended Brock on all of the successful (i.e. scoring) nonschedule plays.

It also seems that the receivers are better prepared to adjust to BP when the pocket breaks and he freelances.

I'm not seeing the culture you're describing at all.

I would say it depends why you went off schedule. Kyle has mentioned that Brock usually immediately knows he made a mistake and tells Kyle.

i think if you just miss what Kyle designed the play for in general and then run around on a consistent basis - yeah, he's going to murder someone. It's just a balance.

i think every player get scolded for missing assignments on plays. Kyles plays require everyone to execute their role correctly, so it's really important that all 11 are playing their part.

Shanahan's general response to off-schedule plays feels similar to Steve Kerr when Steph Curry shoots a crazy ball that somehow goes in---"As long as it works."
The Kittle TD that he took away from Ray Ray is a good example. Shanahan said at the post-game, he was like "What is he doing?!" in the moment and then he saw the ref's hands go up to signal TD and he was fine with it.

Feels like to me... Shanahan will point things out on film... "This play is drawn up like this because of this and that... When you see this, when you see that... this is what you should be doing." And I think that's what it should be. I forget when he said it, but I think Purdy has said that when he gets off the field after a mistake, sometimes Shanahan will ask him "What were you seeing on that play?" and it becomes a coaching point where they can talk about the X's and O's of it, and I think that's where a player can learn from his mistakes.

One could argue that our persistence to the run is what allowed us to run successfully in the second half. The Cowboys defensive line was amped up, ready to play, that they were like a heavyweight boxer throwing their hardest in the first half... by the second half, they started slowing down, and we had two big drives that ended up giving us the lead.

We did mix in those passing plays, but the Cowboys are expecting that. Last week against the Bucs, the Buccaneers tried a number of screens that the Cowboys just shutdown. The commentator pointed out that, because the Cowboys are so good at generating pressure, they're so used to seeing teams throw out screens to try and take advantage of their aggression.

Ultimately, yeah, it wasn't pretty yesterday, but they opted for a relatively conservative gameplan against a defensive front that thrives on forcing QB errors. In the end, the difference between the two teams was that our QB made zero mistakes, while the Cowboys' QB made two (with one of them in the redzone). The staff knew it was going to be that kind of game, and in getting the W, they proved to be correct.

Agreed. Dallas small line would have been exposed if they put mason in there and ran behind Trent williams with juice and kittle pulling on blocks.

We would have blown them out and worn them down way faster.

He tried a couple screens to McCaffrey and deebo but the plays were too slow developing and got blown up.

I think we just needed to run behind Trent with a bigger back. Potentially some delayed handoffs could have worked or maybe something like a double reverse if you could use Dallas speed against them.

Mason needs to be used more imo. In every game.

These armchair Madden generation play callers absolutely kill me
KS that end of first half woof.

I used to hear welp he doesn't trust JG in those spots, that's why he gets tight in those moments. Can't say that anymore. He didn't trust Brock or at least he was betting we would fail on O, then fail on D. I think even if we would have failed on O, I bet we would have held up on D, particularly against a team with a compromised kicker in a late half likely they would be settling for 3 situation.

A red flag type moment in an otherwise great game from coach and our staff. My suspicion is KS will need to show belief in the team in these moments going forward if we want to win it all.

I thought they should have run it a bit more but behind Williams and Banks.

A win is a win so great!
