He missed multiple receivers during the game. Late on a couple. He can't do that against the Eagles or we loose. I also noticed that he bailed from the pocket way too often and didn't step up into it several times.

I cannot wait for this film to come out. My observation was very Jimmy-esque type of game from Brock. Not flashy but very efficient on 3rd down. Where he was different from Jimmy is he didn't try to force things that weren't there and he threw the ball away instead.

Classic turtle thinking. We need to score tds not worry about what dallas might do. Holy moly.

II'm going to quote myself so I can provide what I think is the most egregious example of turtle play calling in the entire game.

It came in the fourth quarter as we're winding down the clock it's third and eight with about a minute something left no timeouts for Dallas. The ball is going to stay on the ground and we need 8 yards. Now what do you call? Do you sneak in a pass play? Too risky. Kyle calls a line plunge. Gets 6 inches.

Now why do that? Why not call a play that might get eight yards on the ground? Why not give it a shot and do something positive to get the first down? It all worked out in the end. But that decision irked me. If Kyle wants to win a Super Bowl he needs to lose that kind of thinking in my opinion.

To a certain extent, you want to be aggressive in the playoffs, but also keep in mind the defense you are playing against. In other words, teams with a strong defense - you have to take a bit of a different approach than teams without a strong defense. You take more of a field position game, and rely on your own defense and use complementary football to win the game.

in essense, you use your offense to push the ball to their side, punt, use your defense to limit their offense, make them punt, use special teams to get good field positon and use the offense to drive to the redzone and get a field goal. Good defenses can become impenetrable in the red zone, hence trying to score against good defenses in the red zone can result in turnovers or failing on 4th downs, like in the NY Giants vs Eagles game. Take what the defense gives and live another day.

Going off the film from that WZ article, looks like most but not all the options they are talking about are not really options to throw to. Most of them would have had to be thrown too early or just blindly throwing it and hope our guy gets it. I'm glad he didn't force it like that

We will get blown out if we only score 1 TD. Kyle is gonna have to use a passing attack in this one

I can't see Kyle going pass-happy against the Eagles, not with that pass rush of theirs.

Establishing the run game will be CRITICAL.

Kyle's run game is unstoppable at times. In the Dallas game, the Mitchell TD was a result of a great trap block by Trent Williams and a great scrape block by McGlinchy. 49ers gashed the Cowboy DLine run defense in the 2nd half with a combination of zone and gap blocking. Dallas was Crashing 7 to stop the run and that freed up kittle and the other WR's to go one on one and make catches. Kyle's genius in building the OLine, I think, is finding those guys that can do both power/gap and also zone blocking. It's making a difference now in the playoffs - specially if you have a QB like Brock who is super accurate with the passing game.
I'm glad we have a HC that has the presence of mind to call a TO before that last play of the Cowboys, so estimated 33million viewers can enjoy and LOL. Genius!
He's basically our key to victory he has a multi year head start on Sirianni.

If he can run circles around that guy that's our ticket.
Quinn seemed to have Shanny by the short hairs scheme wise in the first half, I think we just wore them down at the end of the 3rd quarter... but ya, glad we won't see Quinn again

Would be surprised if he's not a HC again
We need more quick screens to slow down the rush. The screens we ran against Dallas took too long to develop.

Saw a couple all-22 clips today and it does look like he missed some guys/held onto the ball too long. He was late of some throws as well. Not his best outing, he did make some clutch throws and like Jimmy was efficient on 3rd down.

There was no Mitchell TD in the Dallas game.
