With Trey, we were averaging 180 yards per game on the ground. So say what you want about Trey's athletism but it was working when looking at a production standpoint.

Yea he wasn't ready to play when it was time for him to takeover. That's not good lol. No matter how you look at it, with a SB caliber roster, it was a major blunder.

I can't take much away from rushing stats when he's only started and finished games against bottom feeder teams

Regarless, Kyle believed Trey running the ball would be more affective than Trey making good decisions in the short passing game. Jimmy was coming off a slow recovery off season. You got to roll with what you got.

Then KYLE did the work to help bring McCaffrey in. You are acting like McCaffrey just wandered over here on his own. That was one of the biggest seasonal trades ever and you must credit the Niners staff including Kyle for making it happen. Obviously.
You are literally trying to criticize the coach by using an example of something that HE did to fundamentally change this team. It makes no sense.

Did you miss the part where I said we're all happy now?

I'm saying the criticism before McCaffrey was warranted.

But it wasn't. Kyle has taken this team to three championship games in 4 years. What he accomplished last year after a slow start was remarkable. Kyle is clearly one of the best minds in the game and the team never gives up with him at the helm. It's concerning how many of you out there have such little understanding of what bad coaching really looks like, especially after Erickson, Suit, Stache, Kelly, Dingleberry, etc.
It's about peaking in the playoffs period. The bengals struggled early in the season and the bills literally looked unbeatable. How'd that turn out? No one cares who starts hot it's the end that counts. We are on a 12 game win streak firing on all cylinders at the most important time of the season. The guys up for coach of the year and still people b***h.

His wide back thing was awesome last year, but defenses smothered it to start the season. We needed to make a major move to turn things around, and thankfully we did. As long as we keep getting talent, we will be good because Kyle does have a great mind for the game. I just don't think he's perfect like some.

I don't think Kyle could consistently coach less talented teams to winning seasons like a Mike Tomlin, but I also don't think Tomlin could maximize a loaded offense like Kyle can.

I'd like to see Mike Tomlin coach a team led by Nick Mullens to 9 wins

The fanatics take it personal to ask why not run behind the left side of the O-line a few more times hehehe.

Well you would think it is fairly obvious to run behind the future HOF in Trent Williams but apparently it's not.

Especially after trying behind glintch and brunskill multiple times.

Some people are just stubborn and think they know best.
Yeah, I understand game plan and balance and all but saying a few more times behind the best guy on the line.

Mike Tomlin Is also yet to have a losing record In his 16 seasons as head coach. That's pretty damn Impressive Tbh.

It is. But it also helps to have a HOF QB for the vast majority of that.

I disagree with the premise that he's taking less talented teams to good records. Steelers have always had talent during his tenure.

True. People already annointing him don't know what this game is about. It's about championships. Shanahan needs at least one. Without that one he's just Marty schottenheimer or Dan reeves. A loss sunday and no one is talking about how he's the best in the NFL.

Until Kyle wins a SB he deserves to be fired

Haha. Not "good enough."

...yet.

This is the year that all changes though.

Translation..,,I've talked up the fact the niners have a ton of top shelf talent now, I like their OL now and if he doesn't win it all I'm going to go back to ragging on his ass

Nah. I only call the HC out when we're off to annual slow starts, racking up killer penalties, drops, starting the year off with a ton of injuries, gets too cute, going into a turtle shell, etc.

This year started no different but he's turned it into his best coaching year to date. Amazing 👏.

PS: I do like the OL this year...not sure if it's good enough yet but more hopeful than in the past.

I do agree overall execution inevitably falls on HC….however You're criticisms were much more around him holding the QB back, QB having to bail him out having a s**t/convoluted offensive game plan, having no balls etc

Tomlin has been absolutely amazing. What an awesome accomplishment to be able to say that as a head coach.
