In a game with small margins, I trust second-year coach Nick Sirianni to make better game-management decisions when it comes to timeouts and crucial fourth downs.

Tomlin has been absolutely amazing. What an awesome accomplishment to be able to say that as a head coach.

Tomlin is a great coach and once he gets another good QB people en masse will remember that fact.

Tough to be a defensive oriented head coach and last as long as he has.

Part of the reason why I respect the Steelers' organization so much is that they don't have knee-jerk reactions to things. 3 Head coaches in 52 years, or so.

I hope Sirianni is foolish enough to believe this. Kyle has had his moments making bad decisions, but there's no telling what he was accounting for at those times.
Sometimes it's just like Steven Tyler said…."you have to lose to learn how to win"….I honestly would take Kyle's playoff experiences over most other coaches right now. Heck, look at Andy Reid, you think he got to this elite level without learning from all those heartbreak years? Even Dick Vermeil finally put all the pieces together. I think Kyle is still on his way up, I believe in him.

Philadelphians and others around the country are losing their minds Sirianni isn't a COY nominee (associated press). Only three names on it including Shanahan but I agree he should've at least been there. Probably replacing Doug Pederson in my opinion. I mean it's hard to leave off any of the actual three but Sirianni got shafted. Kinda how Bosa got screwed on comeback player nominee last year.

True. People already annointing him don't know what this game is about. It's about championships. Shanahan needs at least one. Without that one he's just Marty schottenheimer or Dan reeves. A loss sunday and no one is talking about how he's the best in the NFL.

Until Kyle wins a SB he deserves to be fired

Haha. Not "good enough."

...yet.

This is the year that all changes though.

Translation..,,I've talked up the fact the niners have a ton of top shelf talent now, I like their OL now and if he doesn't win it all I'm going to go back to ragging on his ass

Nah. I only call the HC out when we're off to annual slow starts, racking up killer penalties, drops, starting the year off with a ton of injuries, gets too cute, going into a turtle shell, etc.

This year started no different but he's turned it into his best coaching year to date. Amazing 👏.

PS: I do like the OL this year...not sure if it's good enough yet but more hopeful than in the past.

I do agree overall execution inevitably falls on HC….however You're criticisms were much more around him holding the QB back, QB having to bail him out having a s**t/convoluted offensive game plan, having no balls etc
yup.. everything but the QB was at fault .. it took NC awhile but he should listen to us

Two totally different topics. Haha!!!

He just needed to see what consistent quality qb play could look like is all

Consistent? Jimmy was top 3 in efficiency and lowest TO's in his career once he got CMC and could just relax. He's very consistent. Like late in the 4Q of a pivotal playoff game. LOL

How much will teams value this excellent consistency and efficiency you speak of next year with his last major contract?

What will the numbers look like?

No no,...nothing about injuries and how it's turning out to be worse than 1st diagnosed. That was the card you used last year, remember?

Can't use it twice, especially when he's completely free contractually.

Everybody place your bets. Let's turn the rhetoric into results we can discuss beforehand.

Jimmy has been top 10 in efficiency as a starting QB under Shanahan when healthy. With the super low turnover rate this season (even before CMC), it put him in the top 5 for sure. All the elite QB's are highly efficient in most passing categories though. Those QB's always have some trait(s) that put them in that elite status. Jimmy unfortunately has none of them and it shows in his pressure stats.

Wait, quick release and trusting Kyle's primary read no matter what isn't an elite trait? LOL
