Consistent? Jimmy was top 3 in efficiency and lowest TO's in his career once he got CMC and could just relax. He's very consistent. Like late in the 4Q of a pivotal playoff game. LOL

Jimmy has been top 10 in efficiency as a starting QB under Shanahan when healthy. With the super low turnover rate this season (even before CMC), it put him in the top 5 for sure. All the elite QB's are highly efficient in most passing categories though. Those QB's always have some trait(s) that put them in that elite status. Jimmy unfortunately has none of them and it shows in his pressure stats.

Wait, quick release and trusting Kyle's primary read no matter what isn't an elite trait? LOL

Quick release is a common trait for those who are elite. Funny you mentioned first read. Jimmy would get stuck on it all too often in big games. Being able to extend plays rather than panic when your first read isn't there is a very common trait among the elite.

Either that, or it's because Free Agency's right around the corner.
Let's get it boys! Let's get this monkey off kyles back!!
3 NFCC in 4 yrs…as an objective logical fan (yes hard to come by) that's amazing. Doing it with avg Jimmy and Mr. Irrelevant makes it even crazier. We see coaches with elite tier QBs not doing that. We've seen this coaching staff get poached for years and yet Kyle and Co. keep winning.

yes the goal is a SB win, some much goes into that outside of just coaching though. We're a dropped INT away from going to the SB last yr. We were an overthrown pass away from winning it all. We were a deflected pass away from winning it all etc etc…point is we're always in the discussion. We're going to the playoffs, and winning. Who knows maybe we take it all the way this yr. We got a great coach and FO that's built a winning organization. Good times being a 49er fan imo.

We're facing the probable COTY who lost both games without his starter.

Good time indeed!

Lol. Right at wanting better QB play? Who didn't want that?

The issue with you guys is you weren't grounded in reality...still had elite expectations for a top 12 QB talent. His output was very consistent, injured or not. Teams have won Superbowls with his production. We just won with a Jimmy-like playoff production with Brock. If you were going go win with a guy like Jimmy, a FO choice, you were going to need a few more parts (e.g. better PP, a CMC-like outlet, defense not collapsing two digit scores late in the 4Q, health, etc.). The goal was always to have a QB who could (hence the move for Trey) help transcend those issues should they arise but that was never a reality here if the goal was to win it all with Jimmy.

I actually think he wasn't named a finalist…but yeah he's been talked about being in that discussion for sure.

either way I'm proud of this team and our coach. Being a 49er fan since he came in has been a rollercoaster and overall we've turned into one of the premium teams in the NFL mainly because of what he's done for this organization.

Purdy's cowboy performance was very Jimmy-esque. Minus the boneheaded turnovers with a willingness to throw the ball away.

This is a very key point along with JG's inability to create off schedule (another expectation outside of who he is) and inability to stay healthy. Jimmy might give you 2 TD's in an NFCCG, but he'll also give you that 1 INT that'll be untimely and allow a team to get back in the game even while we're up two scores. That's just who he was for us...and oft-injured.

It just makes you appreciate Brock that much more, because he's already proving with Jimmy-like production in a playoff game, he's, 1) Staying healthy, 2) Has the mobility to get himself in positions to throw the ball away or make a play and 3) Not trying to play hero ball and forcing bad-on-bad plays.

Agreed. And Aiyuk needs to fight for that ball at the goal line. I love Aiyuk but that dude needs to step the f**k up in this next game.
