Grant Cohn doesn't know s**t about actual football......takes the Tim Kawakami approach to throw s**t against the wall and see what sticks. Boy, bold prediction saying the nearing 30 year old LB coming off Achilles surgery and 3 years removed from a knee might be released by a fully rebuilding team.....BOLD.

What don't you tell us about these "deep balls" that need to be thrown.

I've honestly never seen a more disgusting headline. I want to throw up.

Yah its embarrassing to the fanbase.
Very much so. Proud of losing.

They have to stick to this narrative right now.... they will trot out Ted Robinson and Tim Ryan to spew the company line.... not like they can just come out and say that they have a head coach in over his head right now, with a roster that isn't dynamic enough to overcome his shortcomings.

We need to get an OC.

We have one but he's pretending be a HC.

LOL.... I did consider this response too.

Ooh....the Follower-Sus circle-jerk always a zone favorite.

Lets just hope this turns out like when Jimmy Johnson took over the Cowboys and cleaned house but lost all his games the first season. He did trade Walker and get a boatload of picks, and ended up with Aikman. We don't even have anyone with trade value except Staley, and I hope that isn't next.

Why, what is Shanahan doing wrong? Is he not coaching his LB's and CB's right or is he not coaching the O-line to run block?

I think the team would benefit from having a OC to assist in coordinating and game planning for the offense. This is shanny's first HC gig ever at any level so he should focus on getting down the nuances of the job. There is nothing wrong with the HC delegating some duties.

Let's give it more than five games with Hoyer at QB, playing terribly before we say it is a failure.

Well yeah. We have no choice but to wait.

Let's just say his dad used to sling s**t at Walsh and looked pretty f**king ridiculous in doing so....

Nah.....I don't need to watch periscope, I know how to decipher football concepts and recoginize coverages and it goes a little deeper than "more deep balls" or "stick n Nod" or "all verts" to attack cover 3.

You don't hire a Kyle Shanahan to have him turn over playcalling duties to someone else. His dad called his own plays for his first 7 years as a HC. Holmgren called offense his entire career. Sean Payton has called the offense his entire career. Mike McCarthy has called the offense pretty much every season in the NFL.

You don't hire a top offensive mind to have them delegate to someone less talented, experienced and less capable as a playcaller.

If you actually go back through the games or even just look at the THL/JonnyDel game review threads it is pretty obvious that the playcalling hasn't been the issue.

The biggest problem is bad players making bad decisions, dumb penalties and other stuff bad players usually do.

You could argue that Kyle should have hired a more experienced DC overall but I don't see an issue with him continuing to call the plays and run the offense. He is one of the top playcallers in football and you want him continuing to play towards his strengths.

As time goes on and they acquire better players, perhaps a better overall DC, it will all start to come together.
