49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

I don't mind the criticism of Kyle.

It's the wild calls for him to be fired that does my head in.

Facing scrutiny from the press and fans. He should have to explain the decision and take accountability for it being a poor one.

Kroft is generally a good blocker. Not like he had Dwelley out there.

99 times out of 100 that's just a fumble.

And therefore 99 out of 100 times it's a poor decision. You don't leave a TE one-on-one with a guy who had 18 sacks.

Yet NFL teams do it every single week. Bosa has been matched up with TE's plenty of times.

Really gonna blow his mind when DEs get left unblocked intentionally also.

There are no minds to be blown. It's a poor choice.

He's most definitely a good coach but tremendously flawed
well least that douchebag of a coach Sirianni told Shanny he had a ton of respect for him, from what I heard on the telecast.

No way should he be fired, but he tends to do some odd things at times.

Hell of a season though.

Yeah well he's still a douche. Hope those AFC boys wax them in the SB.

How about a coach who continues to put his qbs in harms way.

Brock was in the pocket. How did he put him in harms way?

Isn't it obvious. He asked him to pass. If he had been injured running then that would be the reason. People that are sick of Shanahan are nuts. I'm more sick of fans that are clueless and try to blame the coach, the refs or the owner every time they lose. Sometimes it's just bad breaks. Sometimes it's poor decisions by the players. Today it was a little of both. I didn't see one penalty that was a terrible call. One or two might have been close but hitting the QB out of bounds and grabbing receivers right in front of the ref is stupid. The roughing the kicker penalty was desperation trying to block the punt and make something happen. Just not out day.

Why do you call a play that takes 4 seconds to develop and leave your backup TE blocking their best pass rusher? Situational awareness. Why not challenge the big 4th down non catch from D. Smith? Trying to save a timeout / challenge IN THE FIRST HALF?
Needs to find a DC with Fangio to Miami. Ryan likely gets hired tomorrow.

Takes a special kinda "fan" to blame a head coach who has taken this team to the NFC championship with his 3rd string QB and then losing said 3rd string QB to injury on the first drive in the game causing the loss.

FACTS

Very much facts! Kyle is a heck of a coach. Glad he's the coach of the niners. If it wasn't for some very unfortunate luck Philly can be beaten. Felt like him and lynch put together a hell of a team. Couple positions we can hopefully address this off-season and like where we are headed into next season.

He doesn't deserve to be fired. But he deserves a lot of criticism.

"Kyle, I'm sorry our refs treated you so bad. They didn't need to give us all that help after we disarmed your QBs".
Zero head coaches have reached SB w 3rd string QB
