Bill Walsh wouldn't have blocked the opposing teams best rusher with a TE

I just hate the fact that he never learns. The next drive with Josh Johnson we ran basically the same play but had Jennings assigned to block both Reddick and another guy.

Guess what happened on that play. Reddick basically got left unblocked and absolutely smashed Johnson for a 10 yard sack.

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results...

True true. I have no idea what the plan was here but it's pretty much the worst plan ever.

At what point is it not dramatic to think they'll never ever win one again? Asking for a friend.

As long as they keep making the playoffs, they've got a shot. I'll take losing in the NFCCG over a repeat of whatever the f 2003-2010 and 2015-2016 were.

Beginning to question what's more painful. Has to be harder to go 6 championships and 2 Super Bowls without winning one than it is to lose them all.

Every playoff loss is painful, but there is always next year. At least for me. Just hope Purdy's injury is not serious. Got to throw out that play that blocks the opposing teams best DE with a TE, again if true.

Yeah, if true, that was a really bad decision.

I guess Walsh was perfect with blocking schemes as well...

I do. You never stop trying and giving yourself the best shot.

Talk all the improvement you want,...but when your 3 top QBs are out after the 1st drive and the one you brought in late in the season goes out concussed....none of that stuff really matters vs. a team like the Eagles.

You are always trying to improve everything,...no doubt. But now is not the time to pretend like we knew all along that the roster can improve because....CONTEXT.

I was grateful that we were even in this game.

you know he blocks you yet you chase constantly. Weird

You HAVE to be talking about me? He's still going at it?

The mods know. They'll handle it. Thanks.

I hate history right now

Facts.

At what point is it not dramatic to think they'll never ever win one again? Asking for a friend.

Well this is awkward. I'm asking for a friend too.

This. All these young guys in here would have wanted Walsh fired when he lost in 85, 86, and 87 in the playoffs and when Montana got knocked out of the game. LOL
I stand by my statement. Any criticisms beyond not challenging are completely unwarranted. And I have never been a Shanahan homer.

Oh boy 🤦‍♂️ shows you a coach winning and not getting 4 QBs killed inspite of back up O-linemen. My god!

Burrow was sacked 41 times, Hurts was sacked 38 times, they are both in Top 10 of the NFL for most sacked this past season.

QB's are going to get hit, when they get injured, its usually the result of s**tty luck. Garoppolo tore his ACL without a single person touching him for example. Was that on Kyle, the OL? Who gets the blame there? Sometimes, s**t just happens.

Both Burrow and Hurts throw nearly every down. Go look!
If you are constantly getting QBs hurt it's not bad luck or they question it's a you and scheme question.
Their best edge coming in untouched is a monumental failure.

100% of my replies are always for the entire board to read and take in.

If there are any personal replies...that's what PMs are for.

If you tell the entire board that the sky is Pink,....I see no problem replying to the post reminding everyone that the sky is really blue. You dont like it and would rather posters be taken out of here for straightening out falsehoods for everyone else? Too bad.

Clearly,....it's for everyone else and not directly for him. The truth should be important on a messageboard.

Ignore my posts if you dont want to read, Jeep.

Stay on topic. The 49ers.

And that has what to do with them absorbing a ton of sacks throughout the season? Does being hit hurt less when you throw more? They're still getting hit a lot.

You can look at the QB injuries and most were freak occurrences. Lance having his ankle rolled up on, Garoppolo fighting for more yards and getting his foot trapped, Purdy getting hit at exactly the worst spot possible while releasing the football.

This isn't David Carr or Tim Couch getting battered behind terrible OLs. This team has just had a run of s**t luck when it comes to quarterbacks.

Kyle being too overconfident In his own ability, maybe? I honestly don't understand what he was trying to accomplish by expecting a crappy backup TE block Reddick.

Oh well, we'll be back again next season.

I don't think we can put It down to bad luck when It continues to happen every year.

Protect the QB at all cost.
