I believe he's had to use 3 different QB's in 1 year, 4 of 6 years, IIRC? That nuts.

But yes, overall, lots of QB injuries this year but of course we're the extreme outlier this year.

the real issue is 6 years in and we have no idea who the QB is. KS hasn't figured that spot out in 6 years. and I will continue to say it.. this team has an issue keeping the QB active.. and it's not the protection, you have high end blocking TEs, pro bowl every year FB, top 10 RT, HOF best in class LT, etc. Blocking is there.

QBs need to be aware. Better pocket awareness, better internal clock, throw the ball away if that first read isn't there, knowing their best pass rusher is being blocked by our backup TE. All that s**t comes with more reps.

freak injury. QBs are getting hit every week and we just happen to get the ones that break their ankles and ulnar collateral ligament injury (wife called it as soon as it happened 😭)

We should stick with the same OL that got us 4 Qbs killed eh? Lol

There's also a draft and the option to make a trade

Toss out some names please….also imo Brock held onto the ball too long and it was a TE not a lineman who didn't hold his block. Brock's gotta have better pocket awareness in that situation, knowing a TE is blocking their best guy.

We score if Trey Lance was in at QB

I'm just saying it's something we should at least attempt to do.

I never said It would be easy, buy we did fund a way of upgrading last year's NFCCG OL with Banks and Brendel.

Besides, Isn't Glinch scheduled to become a free agent?

What does Kyle/Lynch need to do NOW to get us over the hump for next year? They're obviously close.
still a QB away

Fair. Anything else?
what else is there to get us over the hump?

Pass protection, pass rush, pass coverage, 24th in ST, etc. You know, things beyond the QB? No?

Most sites have him as either the #1 or #2 best (top 15 overall) OL in FA.

ShanaLynch did a good job keeping the rest of the team relatively healthy, hopefully he can figure out how to keep his QBs healthy.

Its a violent sport, and I agree. But if he can find a way to reduce or eliminate those injuries, he'll have an advantage over the rest of the NFL. The talent is so evenly spread out that one or two injuries will end your teams season. I'm fully expecting Kyle to get a 3rd QB now to play behind Trey and Brock.

The QBs gotta take care of themselves all the same. Internal clock, running/sliding, throwing the ball away, pocket presence etc etc.

Many are whining about protection.

Lol if anything,...I'd argue that the protection's been so good that Brock simply took it for granted. Finishing in the Top 5 in pass blocking in 2023 would be a dream come true.

Please someone -- anyone -- rewatch the exact play as it went down. He could've gotten rid of it. Rewatch the play.

DLinemen get to the QB from time to time. It's part of the game.

Greg Olsen said when it happened it was something he noticed with Brock as the season went on. His internal clock was working as well. He was holding onto the ball too long (less anticipation throws) and he was getting hit more.

There's room for improvement in the trenches on both sides, but what the 49ers really need is big growth from some of their young players ie Drake Jackson, Danny Gray, Spencer Burford, TREY LANCE.

Great point.

I agree that Kyle didn't have that hall of fame QB these past 6 years. Maybe he's found it this year. In my opinion I think he has two, not one. Having said that, the 49ers beat the '84 bears defense before they were the legendary Bears defense because of smart playcalling and good OLine protection. It takes both to get to a Superbowl.

Oh I'm not disagreeing…I'm saying I see people complaining about it. I'd love to see who they think is better, available, and makes sense cash wise?

Kyle is the Jimmy Garoppolo of HC's...can go on a great winning roll, plays best when his back is against the wall, can roll up elite stats, and play with the best of them. But in the moments you need him most, he's not quite the guy to get you over the hump and it's 100% mental.

I still believe you can win a Superbowl with both under the right circumstances though. I still believe in Kyle. But sometimes he needs to be saved from himself and his blinders-focus on play calling.

Totally disagree. the game was over after the 6th play of the game, there's no one to blame at that point imo. He's been handicapped at the most important position in sports. Go look at all the great HCs and when they had real success. They often had HOF QBs. Kyle's winning (a lot) with avg QB play and tossing in the 262 pick in the draft. that's real coaching imo. That can only get you so far (hence going all in on Lance).

He's not gonna win multiple SB's with the QBs we've had. You can't consistently win SBs with an avg QB. The league is built differently now. You gotta beat multiple elite guys deep in the playoffs. I have no idea what Brock is and I'm not willing to bet my house he's gonna become one of those elite guys. I got no idea what Lance is either…imo you gotta figure that s**t out though.

Except every one of those QB's were handpicked by him. He's the GM here as well.

And? Mike Tomlin didn't pick Big Ben yet everyone's got a hard on for him in here. Tom Brady fell into Bill's lap. How many hand picked QBs did Reid get wrong? A f**k ton. I could go down the list…point is if you don't have that "it" guy you need to keep swinging for them.

I love how in one breath Kyle and Co didn't have say in any of the good players (those were Peters guys lol) now it's Kyle hand picks everyone and he's the GM. Come on bro can't be flip flopping to push a narrative…makes whatever point you're tossing out there less meaningful.

Everybody in the world knows Kyle gets his QB's even if someone else happened to have seen them first. 6 years. But yes, keep swinging for it!
