We should stick with the same OL that got us 4 Qbs killed eh? Lol

There's also a draft and the option to make a trade

Toss out some names please….also imo Brock held onto the ball too long and it was a TE not a lineman who didn't hold his block. Brock's gotta have better pocket awareness in that situation, knowing a TE is blocking their best guy.

I'm just saying it's something we should at least attempt to do.

I never said It would be easy, buy we did fund a way of upgrading last year's NFCCG OL with Banks and Brendel.

Besides, Isn't Glinch scheduled to become a free agent?

Most sites have him as either the #1 or #2 best (top 15 overall) OL in FA.

And that means he's going to get paid.

It's a pretty big dilemma for us. If we aren't going to pay him then we definitely won't pay or trade for someone better.

If we do pay him we're probably paying him more than his production will provide.

As far as drafting, late 3rd and 4th round area can still get good OL but it's a pretty hit and miss with a higher chance of missing if we expect them to play straight away.

I think we let him walk but I also fear our OL will not improve on that side which is a little scary to think about.
It's the same excuses every ficking year.

Jimmy gets hurt because he's made of glass. Trey gets hurt ita a freak injury. Brock gets hurt it's a freak injury.

You have a rookie qb in there, and you're blaming him for not being aware instead of blaming the genius coach who should never have put him in that position. Instead he calls some gimmicky s**t double fake pitch against a monster dline that almost got purdy killed.

I'm so f**king tired of the excuses year in and year out.

What does Kyle/Lynch need to do NOW to get us over the hump for next year? They're obviously close.

There's room for improvement in the trenches on both sides, but what the 49ers really need is big growth from some of their young players ie Drake Jackson, Danny Gray, Spencer Burford, TREY LANCE.

Great point.

Hero gets it.

none of this will matter if they can't replace demeco

ShanaLynch did a good job keeping the rest of the team relatively healthy, hopefully he can figure out how to keep his QBs healthy.

Its a violent sport, and I agree. But if he can find a way to reduce or eliminate those injuries, he'll have an advantage over the rest of the NFL. The talent is so evenly spread out that one or two injuries will end your teams season. I'm fully expecting Kyle to get a 3rd QB now to play behind Trey and Brock.

The QBs gotta take care of themselves all the same. Internal clock, running/sliding, throwing the ball away, pocket presence etc etc.

Many are whining about protection.

Lol if anything,...I'd argue that the protection's been so good that Brock simply took it for granted. Finishing in the Top 5 in pass blocking in 2023 would be a dream come true.

Please someone -- anyone -- rewatch the exact play as it went down. He could've gotten rid of it. Rewatch the play.

DLinemen get to the QB from time to time. It's part of the game.

Greg Olsen said when it happened it was something he noticed with Brock as the season went on. His internal clock was working as well. He was holding onto the ball too long (less anticipation throws) and he was getting hit more.

Olsen is a horrible commentator, I wanted to mute him many times yesterday.

That pass play was a deeper route and needed more time to complete. Kroft shouldn't be 1 on 1 vs Redick in that play. Not sure if Kittle could have chipped or Kroft accidental trip chop block. In hindsight the wrong play and match up that early.

let's not look past the real issue

team is loaded all over

the real issue is 6 years in and we have no idea who the QB is. KS hasn't figured that spot out in 6 years. and I will continue to say it.. this team has an issue keeping the QB active.. and it's not the protection, you have high end blocking TEs, pro bowl every year FB, top 10 RT, HOF best in class LT, etc. Blocking is there.

QBs need to be aware. Better pocket awareness, better internal clock, throw the ball away if that first read isn't there, knowing their best pass rusher is being blocked by our backup TE. All that s**t comes with more reps.

freak injury. QBs are getting hit every week and we just happen to get the ones that break their ankles and ulnar collateral ligament injury (wife called it as soon as it happened 😭)

I like your first sentence and I would agree. The pressure on the BP play was not blindside it was within his vision. I like him looking downfield trying to make a play for us, however if he picks up the rusher maybe he eats it to avoid a disaster sack situation. Hard to say. I get it's a luck issue with injuries in part, however I get tired of this repeated, bad luck refrain. Control what you can control. We can't control the luck aspect, but we can control how we coach up / protect up our QBs. Howie Long at halftime (he knows a thing or two about pass rush) said we didn't block that up correct, from a scheme point of view. Wrong guy on Reddick.

I hope they can.
This loss sucks because it wasn't due to us not being the better team or us shooting ourselves in the foot. We lost because of something out of our control. What can you learn from that? There's nothing you take away from that season and say "if we do X better or change Y we are SB champs". All you can do is try again next year and hope things go your way.

still a QB away

Fair. Anything else?
what else is there to get us over the hump?

Pass protection, pass rush, pass coverage, 24th in ST, etc. You know, things beyond the QB? No?

Imaginary hump to suggest there's been some "thorough scouting" from "top to bottom" of the team,...lol.

When the reality is we had none of our 3 QBs available to really make it a game. The moment he went down against perhaps the best team in the league, the game was over.

Those cliches you named are worked on every year by every team. A nothing-burger that sounds great.

So you don't know really.. just blurting out things doesn't upgrade anything.

Things beyond QB..? QB and their limitations is the only thing that stops teams from winning

They showed at halftime BP and JJ getting blown up with Howie Long saying we aren't protecting correctly from a scheme / play design point of view.

He just gave you a list of what needs to be Improved lol

Having a great QB Isn't gonna help much If we can't keep him upright.
The Niners had Jacob Eason from UW on the practice squad since week 11. My question is why did they bring in Josh Johnson?? He clearly did not know the verbage and the playbook yesterday. It was so apparent he was like a rusted hinge moving so slow because he was not comfortable in the offense. 3 delay of game calls, my god man snap the ball and hand off to CMC if all else fails. Josh Johnson should be grateful for his 8 million dollars career earnings and move on.
