What does that leave us with?

With the way Kyle used Lance since that Cardinals game, he was going to be injured.
You can´t let your QB run up the middle so much.
It can be Lance making wrong reads, I don´t know. And if that´s the case it´s up to Kyle to protect Lance from himself.
As for Jimmy and Brock, s**t happens.

If only there were other teams who ran their QB up the middle without getting hurt we could compare to….

Well we talked about the Eagles using Jalen Hurt´s running ability a lot and with ton of success.
But he injured his shoulder running being tackled by a DT.
And the way he played against the Niners, he´s clearly limited passing the ball.

Focusing better on specific matchups instead of just generalizing the entire process.

Not every O should go up against every X.

I don't think that's too controversial, either...with that statement I'm just parroting people who've played football professionally and know the sport much better.

If we're talking scheme, I don't think there's a team out there over the past 6 years who've had more injuries to QB, WR, TE, RB and OL then us...not even close. FB has been the single healthy position but Juice is a workout warrior and smart in his contact.

Is it the scheme stressing position responsibilities? Or maybe the type of players needed to execute the scheme?

Either way, it's worth not generalizing and just passing it off as "just a contact sport" because if that simple-minded take was truth, all teams would be dealing with this. But every year we're leading the league in AGL. 8 years and counting.

You do you, NC.

I don't need to do anything but manage the injury thread...this ain't normal. LOL

Yeah the scheme is causing injuries.
Three head coaches from his staff after just six years as a head coach. That's remarkable.

I'm not worried about losing anyone as long as Kyle is the coach.

And we haven't even won a Superbowl with Shanahan.
New training staff?

Yeah the scheme is causing injuries.

I don't want to go that far but it definitely should be in the conservation as a contributing factor.

True we just need to win the one that does count.

Is there a scheme that doesn't involve contact at every position?
Double edged sword

We're aggressive, physical, we want to make contact at every point and repeatedly punch teams in the mouth.

Other teams know this and have the choice to respond in kind.

There's certain injuries that are just purely bad luck, but we might just have to accept that the thing we love about this team also puts us at a higher risk.
