Jimmy G is working on his 3rd freak accident that cost him the majority of those seasons. Trey has had his second debilitating injury which ended up costing him this season. And Brock has now had his first which would have cost him his rookie season if it wasn't already over.

I've watched plenty of other teams over the years and SF has been the poster child for QB injuries over the past 5 years.

Which NFL teams have been devastated more by it than the Niners?

QB injuries cost us the season in 2018, 2020, and 2022. Sure there were others injuries but QB is the most important and Shanahan hasn't shown he can keep his QB's healthy for long stretches or let alone consecutive seasons. I figured Jimmy was just injury prone and maybe he is but what about the other 2 QB's, both had season ending injuries this year as well?

Maybe you're right and there is nothing behind it but bottom line is Kyle needs to find a way to keep his QB healthy because having 3 "starting" QB's on his roster this year wasn't enough.

What's the chargers excuse? That team is constantly injured. Philly had a ton of injuries. Titans had a ton of injuries. Steelers were a mess…constant injuries.

It blows, but injuries are part of the game. Part execution and part players needing to be aware of how to take care of themselves…

Same, I disagreed with a comment and he blocked me.
I don't think it's fair at all to say fire him. Or even that he should be replaced. But it is fair to say his QB's have massive amounts of injuries. I've never heard of a team being down to their 5th string emergency QB. That's absurd. It's season after season too. Injury after injury. Lots of players and especially the QB. So they system, scheme, blocking scheme, offensive line and blocking TE's come into play. As we just saw in the NFC Championship Game.

It's not ridiculous to look at that and talk about it IMO. That's perfectly reasonable. We may need some adjustments there.

I feel like DL and TK are two peas in a pod, both very sensitive and disliked by a good amount of their peers.

I honestly didn't think our injuries were that bad this year other than QB, Mitchell and Eman we had some good health this year. Now of course QB is the biggest kinda injury a team can endure but honestly we didn't have many huge injuries.

Absolutely. Secondary can stand to improve even moreso. Was far weaker over the season than the o line.

It's the delusions of grandeur. Both actually can do a really good of reporting.

So it's harder to throw around Taylor because he weighs a Big Mac more than Glinch?

If weight was so meaningful wrt OL, why doesn't every team just add the heaviest guys to their line?

Joe Staley was 300lbs soaking wet and is a 6x pro-bowler

David Bakhtiari is 310lbs, multiple all-pro

Laremy Tunsil Is 310lbs and probably the 2nd best LT in football.

Its silly to argue about one guy being on the lighter side. Kelcey is the lightest center in football and a perennial all pro.

But we are talking about the entire right side. 3 regulars are bottom 5 percent in weight. And mcg is bottom 30 % is pretty tall and doesn't pass pro that great to begin with.

Its something to consider because kyle doesnt really prioritize pass pro. Usually we get by but against philly we played an elite pass rush and got clocked.

Question: did we adjust pass pro scheme just for philly? Maybe the weight thing plays together with our pass pro schemes. We didn't double reddick and paid the price cause it would have messed up our orbit motion. Probably not just one answer.

Lane Johnson is 320lbs, Isaac Seumalo is 300lbs, and like you said Kelce is one of the smallest IOL in the league. Damn good right sight, far from big fat men. (Oddly enough it was Lane who's been injured the most).

our pass pro was fine this yr…we ran a PA with Brock and a TE blocking a good DE. Not the best play in the world, but the QB has to understand who's blocking whom and have a better internal clock. Greg Olsen was calling out Brock on that play…he said he notice Brock had been holding onto the ball longer than he should have been down the stretch.

Sucks that Moseley went down. When he was healthy I think they were as good as anyone

Agreed. There was teams that were decimated by injuries this yr. How many different QBs played this yr? It was something ridiculous like 60+ different QBs.

we got f**ked at the worst possible time. It's doesn't always have to be the blame game over it either.

I was shocked how many times our players got hurt came back later. Normally that's not the case for us. Deebos injury in years past he was gonna miss half the next season. AA would have been out the year. Greenlaw done for the year. But all those players just missed some games and came back. We also traded for a RB with a long injury history and he was healthy.

It's almost like it's random or something and can't be fully encapsulated without actual analysis of each event independently.

Most of them came back except the ones who play the most crucial position In football.

Maybe we'll have better luck next season regarding the QB position.

I still blame the Bermuda Triangle

Reasonable like calling him a scrub head coach?
