Hypothetically, if Singletary was coaching the team (and not Harbaugh), how well do you think that team would have done? Lot of nail-biters that year, I remember.

What does that have to do with Kyle Shanahan taking over a roster void of talent?

Not much. He answered my question with a question so that pretty much answers my question.

This right here proves what hysterical was saying…if you knew even a shred about football you'd know that he did NOT call 16 QB designed runs that game. Scrambles are not play calls. Let's stop being stupid for two seconds.

No he does BUT that doesn't fit the narrative of a couple 🤡 in here

I'm not directing this at anyone specific, I'm just saying... there's too many extremely well-respected players and coaches who call Kyle a genius, mastermind, wizard, and future HOF coach for me to take the average fan's take as anything remotely credible.

I've been a football nerd my whole life, and while I'm not employed by the NFL or a team, I see what these football professionals see. If you know football, I don't understand why some others can't see the same thing. No one is saying Kyle never ever makes a mistake or is infallible. Like, duh, he's human. But come on. We have people legit going to the extreme of saying we should fire him. Downright asinine.

I guess the average fan refuses to give any credence to Kyle's current and former players and coaches who were actually with him every day and/or study his stuff because they have to face him.

They don't know football, they're professional whiners and trolls. It's impossible for them to be objective.

Most have been on one side of the debate and at this point they can't turn back now…It was crickets in here for 12 weeks. I'm sure they were enjoying the winning like every fan….Only to come back and run their mouths about s**t they have no clue what they're talking about. It's infuriating to try and have any sensible debate, when they don't even know what they're talking about. It's just hypotheticals, hindsights, whataboutisms, and confirmation biases.

they complain about something only ONE head coach can win a year lol. They exaggerate any negative and give zero credit to anything positive. It's incredibly ignorant. Like you said no one is perfect, but if anyone thinks they should fire Kyle then in my eyes they have zero credibility to talk football. My wife probably knows more than most of them lol.

The best part is that the play Trey was hurt on wasn't even a designed run.

It wasn't that was trays choice. The problem I have is I think trays plays should be called exactly the way brocks were I know everybody wants to say Trey is a dual threat quarterback, but I don't look at him like Lamar Jackson, I don't look at him like Jalen hurts. Have you tried to watch Trey when he tries to juke somebody? It's not really in his tool bag. I really believe Trey will excel when you focus on allowing him to get outside the pocket and then run the same way Brock Purdy did focusing on extending plays first. I think Trey has the ability to run. But in no way shape or form has he shown that he is a run first quarterback, even mentally he's looking for the pass while running.

He's too good not to get a ring. Just a matter if the team can cooperate before he burns out. That's why it's important he recharge the batteries now, go fishing, maybe do the Aaron Rodgers darkness retreat. Relax time for ol KS.

Not every play is a read option or QB run though and you don't have to be an elite level athlete to use that play. Go look at Daniel Jones. Go look at Tua. If you can read that correctly it creates a ton of strain on a defense. Same with RPOs. We see those type of plays run constantly every week. I don't want that removed.

a ton of Brock's passing plays were off of play-action, like a lot. A ton of bootlegs as well. Trey ran those plays as well. It wasn't a ton of straight drop backs and full field read stuff either.

it's just weird that people have form some conclusion on anything with Trey. YR1 he got tossed into the mix and hadn't played meaningful football since 2019. This yr he got a full off season and had one game in crappy weather. I got nothing meaningful to go off that.

No doubt.

Good coaches tend to win super bowls more often than not.

Could next season be our turn? I sure hope so

10th overall pass blocking DVOA unit according to football outsiders.

... or he truly is that HC who believes that he can make any QB looks good in his offense..

The arrogant man really believes that...and its scary

I think health is a combo of the offensive line doing a better job of pass protection, Trey doing a better job of feeling the pass rush pressure, and the scheme basically protecting the QB - i.e. having a Lineman vs a TE in pass protecting against a super star DE. Some of the pass protection breakdowns can come because the OLine isn't on the same page. Burford and Brunskill alternated during the year and that may have caused some miscommunication breakdowns from the right side.

The QB power should be a play that needs to be eliminated from the playbook considering it resulted in Trey's injury. The play action pass where a 3rd string TE is matched up against a super star edge rusher has to be changed, again because it resulted in Brocks injury. So what if KC does put 3rd string TE against the top pass rusher, *Mahomes* didn't get injured. But Brock did. That's the difference.
