49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

I just can't imagine keeping a coach here for 9-10 years with nothing to show for it except for a handful of playoff trophies and letting him slide because he couldn't find the "right" quarterback in one decade's worth of coaching…

if he doesnt win it this year he should be fired...Find a coach that can get us over the hump
this would be his what 7th year as the head coach with nothing to show for it

Have you tried to watch Trey when he tries to juke somebody? It's not really in his tool bag. I really believe Trey will excel when you focus on allowing him to get outside the pocket and then run the same way Brock Purdy did focusing on extending plays first. I think Trey has the ability to run. But in no way shape or form has he shown that he is a run first quarterback, even mentally he's looking for the pass while running.

Not every play is a read option or QB run though and you don't have to be an elite level athlete to use that play. Go look at Daniel Jones. Go look at Tua. If you can read that correctly it creates a ton of strain on a defense. Same with RPOs. We see those type of plays run constantly every week. I don't want that removed.

a ton of Brock's passing plays were off of play-action, like a lot. A ton of bootlegs as well. Trey ran those plays as well. It wasn't a ton of straight drop backs and full field read stuff either.

it's just weird that people have form some conclusion on anything with Trey. YR1 he got tossed into the mix and hadn't played meaningful football since 2019. This yr he got a full off season and had one game in crappy weather. I got nothing meaningful to go off that.

It's the 3 first round picks... He would get no flak if he was a third rounder and very little if he was a second rounder.

The hate seems directed at trey when it should be directed at shanahan and lynch.

With what was given up you expect an immediate 3 good first round picks impact. Ie the equivalent of 3 good picks at other positions.

It just has not materialized that way and it's not treys fault.

Why does there always have to be some form of hate and finger pointing? Ya'll wanted him to sit for a year. He did…he got to play in 5 QRs of football then a 350lb DT rolled up on his ankle. s**t happens, it's the NFL.

If Lance was pro-ready he would have been a top 2 pick. They've tried to push everything on him slowly. That was always gonna be the case regardless of draft capital. Everyone just can't accept the truth of what it was always gonna be.

literally the only thing that didn't materialize is that he got hurt and lost a season of real development. People expecting greatness WK1? Well that's your own fault (not saying you did).

I agree with this. It's enjoyable watching the niners smash scrub teams during the season and something to watch on the weekend but when you have teams that all have talent in the playoffs minor differences like coaching and play calling/single season signings etc... Can make the difference between a team winning or losing.

I have not seen that Kyle can beat 4 talented teams in a row when it counts in the playoffs without making a coaching mistakes that costs dearly.

The only way the coach can make mistakes is if you have overwhelming talent at every spot. Which we do not.

Lol speaking of La La land I'm sure you were up LAs ass last yr. Look what happens when you lose a QB. McVay couldn't even keep that team competitive.
